Talgo XXI | ADIF Series 355

Description
ADIF Series 355 high-speed tilting DMU built by Patentes Talgo as Talgo XXI in 1999. Consisting of two power cars with 1500 kW each and Talgo 7 coaches in between, the train never made it out of the prototype stage and only two were ordered. During testing on June 12th 2002, the train reached a speed of 256.38 kph (159.31 mph), a world record for diesel traction. The operational speed of the formation is 220 kph. The trains were converted into laboratories and passed on to Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias (ADIF). Like all modern Talgo stock, it comes with variable-gauge shared axle suspension and natural tilting.

Since the coaches are just Talgo 7 stock, a sleeper formation is included, based on the Trenhotel Talgo 7 formation with additional couchette car option. Due to the cancellation of the project, this was never implemented but is technically possible.

Included in this mod are single and double formations with regular steats as well as the sleeper formation, all with variable length. This results in a capacity of:

167 PAX @ min length sleeper (148.18m)
334 PAX @ standard sleeper (266.44m)
526 PAX @ max length sleeper (397.84m)
