Be Swift, be merciless, watch your back.

I recommend starting on NORMAL difficulty, for all but skilled weapon handlers, the sheer number of enemies will be challenging.

In this series of 6 dynamic combat focused arenas you'll explore large natural outdoor environments, while dispatching squads of Combine to progress. You will need to shoot fast, reload faster and improvise to stay alive.

Each arena demands skilful shooting at close, medium and long range. Tweak your load out at the start to suit your play style. Keep your head down, eyes up and finger on the trigger. Try experimenting with offensive and defensive strategies.

These re-playable arenas have a variety of chance elements to the encounters that will modify your challenge according to the path you choose to take. This is a great space to hone your trigger skills and reflex time, so get creative! Explore to find new vantage points. There are a few ways in to and through each arena. Try thinking vertically!

I personally love speed running through as a weapon juggling, smooth locomoting flow state exercise. There's literally a musicality to the exchange of combine fire, yours, and the sounds of your weapons reloading.

FAQ:

Q: Is it possible to use head crabs for live distraction tools against the combine?
A: Yes, You can clear at least the first 2 arenas with head crabs on your team, they still bite you though. Jerks.

Q: Are there multiple pathways through certain sections of this arena that can greatly advantage you as an experienced player?

A: Absolutely. Keep your eyes out for Gnomes.

Q: Is this compatible with other mods?
A: Yes, difficulty and all weapon mods and most character mods are supported. The One Shot One Kill mod is a personal favourite of mine that twists the experience in this map quite nicely for more speed and twitch play.

For the ones that get stuck at opening the 2nd fencefield.
If you shoot the left tower that explodes before you use your tool to open the first fence, it gets bugged.
So first open the fence with your tool and then after shoot to trigger the explosion :)

Spoilers: At the part where you blow up the combine perch after the mass of bridges, how do you continue through the two forcefields?

@⭕⃤ QuاET_eΛ̶®t𝔥★ I'm glad you fell in love with the natural setting . It was the starting point of my inspiration, fresh spaces to engage the combine. I'm sad/glad to report that you actually did finish the map. The white fade is the underwhelming ending point. I built this map when my knowledge of the tools was very very limited. If you enjoy the natural settings, get excited for my next project!

Fan-f*cking-tastic! Been my fave combat map for a long time now. Brilliant design AND seamless despite the highly non-angular paths of varying altitude. A treasure of the workshop :)))

@Spaced_Out , happy to hear you had a good time with the difficulty in the experience in spite of the incomplete feeling fade to white ending. My next project will have a much clearer sense of closure !

You really need to go back and make it more obvious that the end is the end, I just spent ages reloading over and over wondering why it kept fading to white. Great map otherwise though, lots of fun. Played on hard first time through and felt properly challenged even with the huge surplus of consumables.
