The Mercury is designed as a cheap and easy solution for the transfer of cargo to and from a larger orbital vessel that's not capable of landing on a planet. Its four 8k full-size cargo boxes combined with its high thrust-to-weight ratio make it ideal for trading missions, base relocating, and deliveries to other players.

She's made of mostly plastic, but has a standard shield generator plus one capacitor, so it's probably best to keep her in friendly territory. Should you find yourself in a hairy situation though, two gats and a minigun turret are available for defense.
