[NOT MAINTAINED] Innate Traits Rebalance

Description
Hey! A heads up. I'm uninstalling the game. The mod will definitely work until 4.0 comes out, and should probably work even after then, but I won't update it anymore. If someone wants to provide a maintained alternative, please feel free to use my work. Have a nice one.

---

This mod rebalances the innate (starting) traits of generic lords and heroes.

Overview

Ever wondered why the generic Strong trait gives you +5 melee attack and +10% weapon strength (plus armour...), while a similar Khorne trait gives you +3 MA and +2% weapon strength? Well, now you won't anymore.

All of the generic traits and all of the traits of all factions (barring some exceptions) have been rebalanced. Their effects are the same: if a trait gave you a melee attack bonus before, it still gives you a melee attack bonus; no effects have been added nor removed. They have however been rebalanced to be both meaningful and consistent among themselves, so that picking a trait is now actually an interesting choice.

A few examples:

- aggressive (all): +15% ws / +10 cb (was +10% / +8);
- strong (all): +10% ws / +5 ma / +10 armor (was +10% ws / +5 ma / +15 armor);
- corruptor (all daemons): corruption +5;
- maimer (Khorne): +10 ma / +10% ws (was +3 / +2%);
- repellent (Nurgle): +15 md (was +4).

Complete traits list

All the changes are listed in this Google Doc file[docs.google.com].

Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with anything that does not change the same innate traits effects. If you use a mod that changes the same effects, first: why? They just override each other. Second, one of the two will take precedence and make the other not work, but this should not lead to any crashes or weird behaviour; simply, one of the two won't work.

This mod makes a crash when trying to start due to some nurgle trait. if anyone knows an up to date mod that does something similar, please do tell.

I hope somebody will do an updated version of this mod. Because the re-balanced traits from this were awesome especially mixed with a few others. If I could I would.

No problem! Just be aware that removing traits is a whole different matter than adding or changing them. You will probably have to overwrite the entire table and keep the 'data__' name, and it's a nightmare for mod compatibility and maintenance.

now im sure i look at wrong place! ty for this info im going to start working.
my plan is to remove traits that i dont like and keep at minimum RNG. i know there is mods that already do that. but not for my preference. ty one more time!

Hi @V!P, thanks!
I search for them in the data pack, then start a few campaigns to see if everything's ok on the frontend after I changed their values. You can find the innate traits in the 'character_skill_level_to_effects_junctions_tables' table in the db; search for '_innate_'. Try and open this mod with RPFM to see what I've changed.
Also, I just found out that the chorfs got the old WH1 obsolte traits too, like Melancholic and Choleric. Gotta rebalance them too :steamfacepalm:
