About Hooveric Reskin (HV Reskin)



This is a unit reskin mod as known as Dryrain Reskin. It changes the looks of many units and focuses on realistic and lore friendly vibe. Also it doesn't make much of a difference from the vanilla intention. There are only subtle visual changes that give more variety rather than changing the appearance entirely.

○ More varieties for many units.
○ Special appearance for ROR units.
○ Retexture, recolour and resize.
○ Purely cosmetic mod. It doesn't affect on gameplay.

This page covers the all-in-one version, but you can also use a separate version that only reskins individual races. Check the Individual versions in the Submods / Recommended mods section below. The individual versions are part of this mod and do not need to be used together.


Setting



○ It's save compatible.
○ Keep your "Unit detail" setting to "Ultra". Otherwise it doesn't work fine.
○ Turn off "Alliance Colouring" setting.
○ Compatible with any mods that does not edit the same variantmesh files, textures and colour tables.

@hooveric: Hello, and I beg your pardon but the vfx mod you referred to in your previous comment unfortunately does not work. I have used both and only both and no matter what I did the problem with the beastmen still remained. I am just letting you know and making no complaints for you have done great work for this game. Please take your time with your work here as of course you have a life outside of modding this game, as some people here forget and plague you and others with incessant requests to update. Nevertheless, thank you again for your work. Be well. :steamthumbsup:

the compatibility mod hasn't been updated yet, and unfortunately it's not a high priority either. It'll take some time.

Using the Improved LOD mod I created should fix the issue, this is a temporary measure, I will try to fix it when I get a chance.

It sounds like it's animation related, which I don't think I can implement with my current skills, but I'll look into it and try if I can.

I found a bug/error. The beastmen and minotaurs have a graphic clip error. The graphic display is causing problems. Otherwise, thank you very much for your great mod, the beautiful variations and color splendor of the units, especially the empire you did very well. Thanks!

hey, would it be possible to change shades (greatsword) variant, so that the greatswords are visible on back, while holding crossbows? Other shades variants have visible melee weapons in shooting stance, so it would look really cool

Hey Hooveric, huge fan and thanks for all your work.

FYI there is some bug with an empire soldier helmet which has rolled and striped fabric round the rim on the state troopers. At a certain level of zoom out it becomes a black mesh and then when zoomed in 'pops' in. Have other mods installed for campaign gameplay but you're the only aesthetic one for me.

Applying to the nuln troops on ultra unit detail atm. FYI! :)

Hey I wanted to post a compatibility issue with Faction Unit Cards III by drew_west. It's causing the war wagons unit card to be empire swordsmen. I was also using your compatibility patch which I think needs a update to fix the problem.

Oh perhaps I misunderstood too. I thought they'd received some level of adjustment from you already and that a sub mod would be put out to adjust them further for people.

Yeah they're pretty stand out orange for me, not sure if anyone else has input. I do have a couple of other mods that cross over with skins (empire related only) but nothing that would touch the Dwarfs.

I'll test my end now just to be certain. I can always post in the discord

wait, does my mod make them orange? Or maybe I misunderstood what you were saying. anyway, my intention was that if their vanilla color is too bright for the other factions, I would tone it down.
