Introduces the multiverse's most awkward necromancer, Valkrana, as an alternative leader of Russia. Cast your spells at the perfect moment for maximum effect, or at your leisure while your skeletons hack at the enemy. Leader Traits
Ability: Arcanum Necromantic
You gain one use of your spellbook upon first obtaining each Relic. The Library has a slot for Relics, which provide +2 Great Scientist points per turn. 10% chance for land units lost or destroyed in combat to be reanimated as a Skeleton under your control. Unlocks the Skeleton unit.
Spells
  • Scry: Permanently reveal a city belonging to target leader. Targets a different city per use, or increases your visibility radius over a city. Targets a random plot if no leaders have been met.
  • Kinetic Barrier: Grant your units a +10 Combat Strength bonus when defending. Lasts 5 turns and stacks duration.
  • Well of Souls: Heal your skeletons for an amount equal to 20 plus twice the number of units you have destroyed since you last used this spell.
  • Skeleport: Spawn 3 hostile skeletons near target leader's city. Targets a random plot if no leaders have been met.

Unit: Skeleton
Unique long-lasting melee unit that replaces the warrior. Gains +10 Combat Strength when the Library is first constructed, and +20 Combat Strength when the University and Research Lab are first constructed. Can repair improvements and remove features.

Agenda: Awkward Infomonger
Valkrana is awkward, and has a permanent penalty to diplomatic score with other civilizations. Each Relic a civilization discovers will slightly but permanently improve her opinion of that civilization, up to five times. She hates civilizations that have spied on her. Valkrana's main focuses are science and espionage.


Features and Notes
  • Supports English, Chinese (PhantomJ_M), German, Italian (iPlayGamesITA), Japanese, Russian, Spanish (josearte777). See this thread to contribute.
  • Arcanum Necromantic reanimation chance is halved vs. barbarians. Great scientist points reduced to 1 per relic in Secret Societies mode.
  • Relics obtained by capture, trade, and discovery all count toward leader ability.
  • Scry's initial reveal radius is 2 tiles, including the center tile.
  • Skeletons will change appearance as they gain strength; skeletons' hats are randomized per strength threshold.
  • Leader kudos are chosen semi-randomly from a dialogue pool.
  • AI uses spells semi-randomly.
  • When Valkrana is defeated, a number of hostile skeletons will appear.
  • Valkrana's Awkward Infomonger penalty is -5.
  • Adds the Cult of Ilyana religion, which Valkrana favors.
  • Recommend using with Relics Plus mod.

Haha, I understand completely. Moe is justice. Because the relic ability is so complicated + convoluted, it'd be a lot of trouble to even make an edit for you. But I could send a copy of an updated Sailor_Valkrana_UU.sql file with increased movement speed if you like.

You're very kind, and I will definitely try your suggestions later. I am a gamer who is extremely biased towards cute-style art in games, and after purchasing Sid Meier's Civilization 6, I immediately headed to the workshop. So my understanding of leader strength may differ greatly from that of regular players. truly appreciate your understanding regarding this matter

Hey, thanks for the comment. Glad you like them enough to want more. I do get where you're coming from: Spells are hard to come by and skeletons are only as fast as normal warriors. These are both balance considerations, unfortunately. I don't like for my mods to be too much stronger than the Firaxis stuff, and Valkrana is already ahead of the curve strength-wise. Any more and I'd be throwing balance out the window.

Suggestions: You might want to look at my Relics Plus mod though for more reliable relic acquisition. You're also more than welcome to edit the skeletons' base movement in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\2787194400\Core\Sailor_Valkrana_UU.sql by changing the "BaseMoves," value at Line 55 to something like "4,".
