This guide is very simple, how to play vanilla yugo?

Just started

Here you set up ur research and army, delete most of the army and start from scratch, research industry and technology (guns/planes a bit later) and start becoming communist. Why are we going communist? Because it has the best buffs and a funny thing called "Ideological loyalty" (you can change this to anything else later in game). Make sure you go independent communism or you won't get the choice to do civil wars and won't get any buffs.

Everything settling

Here you should have already turned communist and got rid of ur debuffs, you should have built civs while you were doing this and have made an agency. Now it is important you research planes, artillery and guns. You can do anti-air if you want which will allow you to more gun and artillery research and maybe even tanks (Recommended for fun), but planes make yugo VERY good at defending and the core territory buffs only confirm that. It is recommended to use the civil wars in the decisions to get friends (easiest ones: Albania, Bulgaria and Greece).

Late Game

Here it is most important to have fun, you can basically do anything. Let's say that you want to have a huge battle with Germany, sure you can because you are strong enough to hold them and have a terrain advantage: Bosnia, Montenegro, The river Dunav... You want to kill the USSR, sure you can. You want to battle the US, sure build a navy. (portrait overhall mod)

And lastly...

This nation is amazing for learning the basics of the game, sure Italy will attack you but that teaches you to be ready for Italy. This nation teaches you the basics of air, land and naval combat pretty well and I highly recommend playing it if you want a fairly balanced game of hoi, I hope this guide helped you!
