The Crimson Legion

Description
Adds a new semi-hostile faction, The Crimson Legion.

Big thanks to Rangelx97 for the help making the weapon textures.

An army of heavily armed conquerors from a fallen world. They come to nearby planets to wage war on tribals and pirates, from the outside it seems like war is all they know, but they’re willing to trade if you have proven your worth.

The legion is an army of aggressive warmongers, they'll start off hostile but after some negotiations, they can become a powerful ally akin to the empire or the Viking clans. They come equipped with powerful weapons specializing in fire damage, and armor that holds their soldiers' minds together as well as their bodies. All of which can be crafted at their forge as well as the various workbenches already in-game.

LORE:
The Crimson legion originated from a group of Neolithic settlers. They were one of the last remaining groups of humans on their planet after the mechanoid wars. The war ended in all the mechanoids and a majority of the humanoid population being wiped off the planet. This allowed the dwindling humanlike species to grow and spread without the harassment of the humans suppressing their natural talents and abilities.
For years after the war, humanity was subjugated and culled by humanlike species like the Gors and the dryads. Enslaving them, hunting them for their leather, and usually eating. One of the human tribes sought to change things and began growing in numbers and technological advancement becoming known as The Teal Legion. They fell shortly after reaching a medieval level of technology by being overrun by an army of Gors. Before that attack, a small squad of their soldiers was sent to retrieve intel on an artifact. Upon returning to the smoldering ruins of their fort and meeting up with the few survivors hiding amongst the wreckage, the captain of the soldiers rebuilt the legion now adopting a much more aggressive approach. As well as a new name for their group, The Crimson Legion in honor of the spilled blood of their fallen comrades.
During their war to conquer their homeworld, the legion discovered a method of creating alloys, they experimented with it until they perfected it. First rediscovering bronze, then gilded plasteel, then staballoy until they created the ultimate metal adamantium. They used it for most of their armor and weapons, it was a key factor in their military success. They planned to use it for their conquest of the west of the rim but since most of the other planets they found didn’t have the materials needed to make bronze they had to improvise. Using plasteel, uranium, and gold they made an alloy as red as blood and almost as strong as adamantium. After creating a reliable method of producing this metal they called it Carmite and used it to replace adamantium, using it to make their weapons and armor. This metal has made their rapid expansion possible.

PS:
I hope yall enjoy this mod more than I enjoyed making it, and I enjoyed making it a lot. It was a trip seeing the story of a few tribals grow into a full-blown faction mod. The process of tearing this game apart and putting it back together in various ways was interesting, frustrating, and rewarding. I probably won't make it CE compatible though, but I will act on any bugs reported asap. If yall have any suggestions or advice please don't hesitate to comment.

ok i made it so that carmite doesnt spawn nearly as frequently and i reduced the fire rate of the rifle

also carmite can be found with deep scanner and mined in large quantities, akin to steel, not sure if that's intended, seems unintentional since it's supposed to have high cost to make, but it's found plentiful and can be mined with deep drill.

i played with this mod for a while now, like 3 full days worth, and i can comfortably say that the auto rifle needs some balancing, with proper shooting skills, my pawn can solo raids standing 50 kilometers away and the time between each volley of shots is too short, he just keeps shooting full auto from sniper rifle range and cant be touched, not to mention raiders on fire will stop shooting and run away.
the same can be said when you're on the receiving end of the auto rifle, a decent size raid party from the legion will decimate your colony if you don't out number them.
i like the concept, but not comfortable using the weapons, too OP.:steamsalty:
