Not Unlike a Boss

You defeated a boss character in Golden Arena Mode!

Each 5 floors, you will face a Boss Character. Except "Ultimate", that Golden Arena doesnt have any Boss. Boss Character are "Black" and "Golden" color.

Battle Mode (cont.)
Arena Dabbler

You completed one Golden Arena course.

The first Golden Arena we'll complete will be the Normal (100 floors). However, the second half cannot be completed until we have our "build" complete and Elizabeth be at least level 60. Floor 51+ have opponents lv 99 with several HP bars. So we have to level up by playing in other Golden Arenas. This step will take time, but will help us to complete the rest of the Golden Arenas.

We'll use Elizabeth. The reasoning is that most of her "attacks" only require pressing a button. Also I recommend using Labrys as partner, because she will make our attacks unblockable (although we can't block either, it benefits us more that our attacks can't be blocked).

Stats will be distributed ST/EN (2:1).
  • From level 1 to lv ~15, we'll complete the first 50 floors of Normal Golden Arena.
  • From level 15 to lv 35~, we'll complete the first 100 floors of Hard Golden Arena.
  • From level 35 to lv 65~, we'll complete the first 200 floors of Risky Golden Arena.
While completing floors, keep an eye on Skills that "Increase Attack" (best choice for now) or have "Chance of 1.5x damage when attack hits" (this is a viable option, its gets better the higher ST you have). We need at least 2 of those skills (once we have level up enough, those skill will not be needed). Elizabeth gets "Dekaja" (Opponent will not Awaken) at level 5 and "Divine Grace" (Auto recover HP (EX)) at level 55. Those will be our defensive skills. "Dekaja" will disable "Awaken" for opponent, that will avoid us problems when lowering their HP (once opponent "awakes" they will inmediatly use a SP Skill that will interrupt our attack pattern or kill us). "Divine Grace" is our heal skill, you can use another one while you wait to get it ("Spring of Life" can be found later in Risky difficulty).

Perhaps you are wondering, how to know which Skill is better? The bonus effect from lowest to highest is L ➯ M ➯ H ➯ EX

At the moment, my ideal setup is "Bash" (Disable Blocking but increase Attack (H)), "Auto-Mataru" (Increase Attack (H)), "Youthful Wind" (Auto recover HP (H), Auto fill SP (M), Increase Speed (M)) and "Dekaja" (Opponent will not Awaken).

You can check all skills here (it could be outdated): https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Persona_4_Arena_Ultimax_Skills

You can check opponents Skills by entering Pause Menu, then go to Skill Info. This can be useful when fighting Boss characters, because you can check what skills they drop.

Now our attack patterns.

Spam "weak persona" button. This will work in almost all opponents in Golden Arena - Normal and most of opponents in Golden Arena - Hard and Golden Arena Risky (except ranged characters like Yukari Takeba or fast characters like Yu Narukami, wich also have projectiles).

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2782886286

Some ranged characters like Yukari Takeba wont be trap in "weak persona" spam (they will "break" our "Persona"), so we can "spam" "All-out attack" (default button is "RT"), it will "block" her projectile, while it does decent amount of damage. This can be used in all difficulties.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2782904995

Finally, we can use combine all our "attacks" for fast characters like Yu Narukami or other opponent that we have problem with. The Auto-Attack can use all our SP (it has several attacks, check it out), but the important attack is the "ice attack", because we can use spam "weak persona" after that. If opponent breaks our "attack pattern" we need to use either "Auto-Attack" (close range) or "All-Out Attack" (medium range) or Spam "weak persona" (long range). It depends of the situation.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2782907075

Right now, if you complete Golden Arena - Normal, you will get "Arena Dabbler" and "Arena Domination".

Arena Experience

You completed two Golden Arena courses.

The strategy is similar to Golden Arena - Normal, but we need to change some skills. We only need to complete the last 100 floors to finish Golden Arena - Hard.

Elizabeth should be level 65+, now we have enough ST(rength) so we no longer need "Increase Attack" skills. We'll change those skills for "Spring of Life" (HP/SP regenerates (H)) and "Full Analize" (Null opponent's equipped skill effects). The first one drops in Golden Arena - Risky floor 110/185; the second one drops in Golden Arena - Risky floor 165.

"Full Analize" + "Dekaja" will stop most of enemy threats. You only have to worry about projectiles and one or two SP Skills when Shadow Type characters activate "Shadow Frenzy". Yu Narukami will be your worst match.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2783114449

If you got "Arena Dabbler" and "Arena Domination", you should get "Arena Experience" now.

Arena Domination

You completed three Golden Arena courses.

The fastest Golden Arena remaining is Golden Arena - Limited. Only has 50 floors. We need to change one last skills. "Dekaja" for "Fury of Yasogami" (Activate Boss Mode). "Fury of Yasogami" drops in Golden Arena - Risky floor 200. This boss is hard, it can kill you with one SP Skill (it does 99,999 damage with one combo). So you need to be at least level 80 (it could be done with less level).

The strategy vs Elizabeth (Boss) is stay far from her, while we spam "Maziodyne" (🡣🡮🡢+ "Strong Attack"). If you have SP to spare use the "Boosted" version (🡣🡮🡢+ "Strong Attack" + "Weak Attack").

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2783715193

Once we get "Fury of Yasogami" , Golden Arena - Limited will be a easy task. You can just spam "Maziodyne" (🡣🡮🡢+ "Strong Attack"). Now you OP.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2783715216

In Golden Arena Mode we can choose a partner, who will give us a unique ability to help us complete the arenas. Your "Partner" will gain xp as long with our character. The max level is 10.

In this guide. We'll use Labrys as "partner". Her ability will disable block for both players.

World Class SP Skills

You won 30 rounds with SP Skills or Awakened SP Skills in Arcade or Network Modes.

Its acumulative. Arcade Mode and Network Mode Only.

Finish off opponent with a SP Skill or Awakened SP Skill. You can tell wich one is a SP Skill because it cost 50 SP to perform it. Also have inputs like this: 🡣🡮🡢🡣🡮🡢. The "P" (Persona) on the Skill means is you need to have the your Persona active, so if your Persona is broken you cant perform it. "SB" (Skill Boost) means you can press both buttons to make a "boosted" version of it. It cost 75 SP instead.

If you have 50 SP while doing Auto-Combo, you will perform a SP Skill at the end of the combo. It counts for this achievement, if you finish off opponent with it.

Home Awakened SP Skill Boost

You used an Awakened SP Skill Boost in Arcade or Network Modes.

The keywords here are "Awakened" and "Boost".
  • "Awakened" means your HP bar is below 35% (it becomes yellow). You gain 50 SP.
  • "Boost" means you need to press both buttons, instead just one, while using SP Skill. SP cost is 75 instead 50 SP.
Not all SP Skills count for this achievement. The ones that count for achievement have a "Red Square" in the left side of their name.

    The Punk's Way

You defeated an opponent without letting them Awaken in Arcade or Network Modes.

The easiest way to defeat an opponent without letting him "Awake" (Awakening occurs when the HP drops below 35%. HP bar turns yellow), is using Instant Kill.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2780743487

    The Divine Way

You successfully used each character's Instant Kill move in Arcade or Network Modes.

This will be easier to get in Arcade mode.

There are 21 Characters that can perform "Instant Kill": the ones that have a "Persona". You will ignore the Shadow Type and Sho Minazuki (the version without persona).

First you need to setup Arcade Mode to "Safety" difficulty and "1 Round". This way the CPU will be dumb and you can "Instant Kill" in the first round.

Option > Options > Game Options.

Now go to Battle > Arcade Mode.

Choose a character, then choose Arcade Difficulty. When the match starts you can use (Golden) "Burst" to gain 100 SP, it needs to hit opponent. If you are attacking or being attacked, using "Burst" will activate "Reversal Burst" (it doesnt gives SP).

    Default button is:

Now use your "Instant Kill". 🡣🡣🡣 + both "Persona Buttons". You can pause and check inputs in command list.

You can go back to Main Menu at the start of the next match. Your progress is saved.

Repeat with the rest of the characters.

Late comment, but you can idle for the 30 minute training trophy. Just set the training dummy to COM controlled and let them beat your ass for 30 minutes and you'll get it.

Not all SP Skills require an active persona. Yu can use his DMC stinger even if Izanagi's broken. I'm actually not sure if he's the exception, though

:p4g_attention:
