Description
Rio Grande and the SP after it ran a guaranteed service trailer train on a 14-hour schedule through the night between Denver and Salt Lake, using a two-man crew. However, in the early 1990s traffic was not that high, and some trains, especially early in the week, required only a single locomotive for the entire run. In this scenario, you have a single GP40-2 and a five car consist and have been stopped at Helper a little over halfway into your shift. As soon as you get the green, you have top priority and will have a non-stop run between Helper and Roper Yard, where you will drop your train and park your locomotive.
