"trees 0" or "pois 3" to shorten or lengthen the rendering distance...defaults are "trees 4" and "pois 7" I think.
I believe the trees minimum caps at 2, so 0 or 1 don't actually shorten rendering distance more than "trees 2".
I also didn't see the "gfx lodbias 2" command mentioned. This acts like the ObjectQuality graphics option (and gets reset whenever you apply a change in the actual graphics menu) but it gives much wider min/max parameters, so you can have objects pop-in or switch to high-quality models much closer or farther or all the way at the edges of the map.
