Critter Motion Sensor (updated for Big Merge)

Description
This is an updated version of Critter Motion Sensor by blennus.
Adds a new sensor that is triggered by any critter in range. The range can be configured in-game.
Build stats are the same as the default duplicant sensor. Required tech is Animal Control, same as the room critter sensor.

Yeah, that's weird, and it doesn't sound like a mod cache issue actually... unfortunately I have no idea what can cause it.

No problem, I'm glad to help. I guess this conversation should stay here for someone who has the same issues as you :)

It must be a weird steam cache issue so... but I'm using Mod Manager from Ony and Mod Updater...
Rhaaa! :meepmad: I loosed so much time to figure what happen there and tough that my save was corrupted.

Well, Thanks for your quick answer, I already posted an issue message on the github of Motion Sensor Range, so the update may come soon if the Mod Author isn't in vacation ^^

Sorry for the false accusation of incompatibility with your Mod :meepsad:
Feel free to delete all of this messages between us to make the Mod page clean, and thanks for maintain this Mod updated :cozybethesda:

Yes, I'm sure.
1) I've tested building a Dupe Motion Sensor with Configurable Motion Sensor Range, with and without this mod enabled. I have crashes in both cases.
2) I've checked Configurable Motion Sensor Range source code and I'm sure it can't work with the latest game version. It refers to StationaryChoreRangeVisualizer component but Dupe Motion Sensor now has RangeVisualizer instead.

What the...

Ok but it's very weird so, because I can play with Configurable Motion Sensor Range alone without crashing...

I don't want to be boring but are you really sure?

The conflict is impossible because Configurable Motion Sensor Range doesn't change anything that this mod uses and this mod never changes anything at all.

The crash in the mentioned mod happens because the latest ONI update changed range visualizer and the component referred by the mod doesn't exist anymore. You should not use Configurable Motion Sensor Range until it gets an update.

careful if you are using this mod + "Configurable Motion Sensor Range"

Configurable Motion Sensor Range is working, same for Critter Motion Sensor, but if you use both of them, the game will crash if you build a classic Dup Motion Sensor.

I realize this after building a setup with Critter Motion Sensor, and then latter when I did build the Dup Motion Sensor, the game Crashed instantly.

Actually My tough is that you can use one of the other, but not both at the same time.
There must be some incompatibility because of "Critter Motion Sensor" who edit something used but "Configurable Motion Sensor Range"

It's unlikely but... mod conflicts can have unexpected effects sometimes.

yeah it always resets to the default 5 but if it's not happening for you maybe some other mod is causing it.

I can't reproduce the problem. How does it look like, does the range return to default (5) every time regardless of what you set? Or you mean something else?
Pönttinen (chill-lock) Jun 23, 2022 @ 5:53pm
it still resets for me
