Saph's Antarctica No Ice
Following extreme global warming, intense continental drift and a thermonuclear war that destroyed all other continents and sent humanity back to the stone age, Antarctica melted and its climes have gone all bonkers! Now it's your job to lead your tribe and rebuild civilization on this last piece of land on Earth!

Description
  • This map is based on a topography of the Antarctic ice sheet bed[news.uci.edu], which is the continent with all its ice taken away. Increased water level and isostatic rebound have NOT been taken into account on this map.
  • The map has pre-placed features (woods, jungles etc.) while rivers, natural wonders, and resources are map generated and randomized each game.
  • This map has optional World Wrap that you can turn on/off during set-up.
  • v3.0 Now featuring optional TSL (with Real City Naming) courtesy of u/K1ERK
  • This YnAMP-based map has map-generated river floodplains, so dam construction and flooding events are possible.

Details
Map size: 86 x 82 (Huge)

Recommended number of civs: 8-12 Civs (The map itself does not limit the number of civs or city states you can have, so feel free to have as many or as few as you like!)

Required Mod: Gedemon's Yet (not) Another Maps Pack

Recommended Mod: Zegangani's Origin: Real Start Locations to help each civ get nice starting terrains favourable to them. Make sure you choose Random for Start Position Link during set-up!

Game Set-up
  1. Have this mod and Yet (not) Another Map Pack installed and enabled ingame
  2. If you want to play with TSL: Single Player --> Create Game --> Load Database (next to the BACK button) and wait for the game to load
  3. Once loaded, you will be back to the main menu
  4. Single Player --> Create Game (You should see a tick next to CREATE GAME at the top.) --> Choose Map Type --> Saph's Antarctica No Ice --> Advanced Setup

Recommended Settings
  1. Adjust the number of civs, city states & religions in the game to your liking.
  2. Manually pick the civs to play as/against or leave them random.
  3. Select Natural Wonders: Your own preference
  4. Start Position Balance: Your own preference
  5. Features Placement: Choose Import for pre-placed features. Choosing Map Generator would randomise the features (i.e. woods, rainforests, marshes & reefs)
  6. Coastal Lowland: Choose Map Generator for random placement / Matching flatlands for more dramatic flooding / Empty for no lowlands
  7. Rivers Flooding: Choose Map Generator / Empty for no floodplains & flooding (and hence no dams)
  8. Resource Quantity: Your own preference (Resources are map-generated; this map does not contain pre-placed resources.)
  9. Civilization Placement: Choose Map Generator for random placement / True Starting Locations to place civilizations at locations corresponding to the location of their real life Antarctic research bases.
  10. Start Position Link: Random (This option only appears when you choose Map Generator for Civilization Placement.)
  11. Force TSL: Your own preference
  12. Enable World Wrap: Your own preference
  13. Real City Naming: Enable to have cities named after names of real life research bases.

Special Thanks
The creation of this Civ 6 map would not have been possible without Gedemon's YnAMP and Zobtzler's YnABMC and their posts on the Civfanatics forum.

TSL and Real City Naming files are courtesy of Reddit user u/K1ERK.

@samahyde99 : As already stated in the description, rivers are map-generated, along with working floodplains. They are randomized each game.
