Uesugi Trade Tariff Fix

Description
The Uesugi clan has a trait for a 5% increase in Trade Tariff income.

The trait has never worked.

This Mod fixes that.

Sure. Send me a friend request and I'll post them up (probably at the weekend) for access to friends only.

Would you mind directing me at the mods you're using? It sounds interesting. Or maybe upload them if you've modded these things yourself?

By the way, I've downloaded all 7 of your mods on steam - they all fix errors that drive me crazy.

. . . I like playing the Mori because, like the Oda, their starting Daimyo has the impolite trait which is a diplomatic burden to be overcome - I love playing the diplomacy angle in my campaigns, more so than the battles, truth be told :)

All Takeda cavalry should have lower recruitment cost and upkeep according to the trait. Making their light cavalry more expensive than anyone else's appears to be an error.

You're right about the Oda bow ashigaru. Don't know what I was thinking there - maybe I was looking at the multiplayer (custom battle) costs in error, but I don't recall now. They are, indeed cheaper as they should be.

The Mori were definitely dealt a bad hand. I play with mods that correct the movement error and addresses other problems I have. The Mori only got extra crew on the bow kobaya and the medium bune and a morale boost of +1 to all other vessels for their 'superior' vessels. So I have boosted them some more and given a differentiation to two classes on the boats that was not really there in the base game - improved attack for those that board vessels / improved defence to the crew that defend the boarded vessel . . .

Interesting! The Takeda light cav still have less upkeep, so they make up for it. I think it balances the fact that they start with stables. Same for Mori, they need a trading port to recruit medium bune, but they start with a harbor, unlike other factions (except Otomo).

The oda bow ashigaru are both better and cheaper in recruitment and upkeep, so I think you got confused there. Seems to work fine.

The mori trait is a real shame... I had no idea the movement bonus was bugged. I think that ship movement bonuses from retainers don't work either (although the "way of the sea" movement bonus seems to work fine). It feels like overall the Mori are the most neglected clan as far as traits go. It's much easier to dominate the sea as the Otomo, sadly. Regular ships like heavy bune are simply no much for matchlock or European ships, or even fire bomb kobaya and bow kobaya fire arrow spam. Makes the Mori really pointless.

The clan traits are riddled with errors - though this one did take a while to spot since it is such a small bonus at the start of the game.

The Takeda are supposed to get cheaper cavalry, but pay more for their light cavalry than any other clan.

The Mori don't get the movement bonus for their fleets, in fact if they go Christian and get recruit a Mori nanban trade ship, it moves about half the distance of the regular nanban trade ship.

The Mori superior boats means a few more men and +1 morale on the bow kobaya and medium bune (they start with the only port in Japan that can never recruit a medium bune !). Not much of a superior navy really.

Oda - reduced recruitment cost and upkeep for all ashigaru - yeah? Unless they have a bow it seems.

These are off the top of my head. There are probably others I have forgotten :)

Congrats for noticing this bug and fixing it! I find it funny that the general consensus for the Uesugi is that they have good traits but a rough position. Who would have thought that their trait doesn't even work...

You're most welcome. They were my favourite (and the first clan I played as I think), until I discovered the Hattori. Spent some time today trying to decipher the tariff factors and it looks like buildings that contribute to wealth have an impact (farms, markets, sake dens maybe mines and resources as well), but also affected by building level, soil grade and is proving a real headache to decipher.
