@Adam.Podstavka The tent kit weighs in at 3 units of weight, the tarp is 1 unit of weight. You can carry an axe/hatchet, scissors, and saw with the saved weight and cut down a tree, or simply forage for sticks/logs, craft tent pegs/stakes and sturdy sticks from planks/sticks in order to craft another tent kit while out in the world.

I could write a script to give back sticks and tent pegs even make it a random chance to get nothing/scrap wood but for balance reasons I figured it didn't matter too much because all that matters is the tarp, everything else can be obtained through just foraging and a knife or having an axe/saw.

So you don't use the take-down tent option to reclaim the whole tent kit?

You mean it's better to get just the tarp because of lower weight and it is to obtain the other resources?
