HDRI Map Megapack [S2FM]

A large pack of empty void maps with HDRI light probes that you can load into SFM to get an ambient lighting setup. These help to tone shadows and add reflections to glossy materials. These are great for scene-building inside SFM, or creating preview renders of models.

Included are 146 HDRI maps with a large range of locations and colour tones. Everything from forests, caves, deserts, to photo studios. The custom HDRI backgrounds are free ones from PolyHaven. The pack also includes most of the existing Half-Life: Alyx ones.

HOW TO INSTALL
Extract the .zip, and put the 'maps' and 'materials' folders in:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life Alyx\content\hlvr_addons\your_addon_name
\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life Alyx\game\hlvr_addons\your_addon_name

Once they're in place, simply open SFM, 'set session map' and search for 'hdri_'.

I've also included the Hammer .vmap files so all the map thumbnails show in the map browser. You can also open these in Hammer to create your own HDRI's, and see how these are set up.

I installed everything correctly, I'm able to load one of the maps in the session.
For some reason though when I try to get the map's lighting in the sesssion, it says "invalid map name" despite me using the correct name, and the command bar even showing its name while I type it in.

How am I supposed to get the map's lighting in the session?

You can link to other sources besides Google drive, Google drive gives an error when downloading at 3100 megabytes and this repeats every time I try to download the mod.

i cant have multiple searchbaths i have to have the one as default? cus i named one other as primary addon folder and this one as hdr

I wanted to know if I'm doing this correctly because it's still not working for me.

So what I've been doing is is opening the file, copying the "Your_addon_name" folder from the content section, and pasting it in \Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life Alyx\content\hlvr_addons\

and then get the "Your_addon_name" folder from the game section and put it in
\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life Alyx\game\hlvr_addons\

I've been trying to put these files into their corresponding locations for almost an entire day now and still can't figure out why the maps don't show up when I try to set session map.

@Abyss gaming - Yup! It's called 'Black Fog'. Just an empty black void, with volumetric fog enabled for lights. ;)
