Drakher WYRM 8x8 - Crash Tender - Fire Truck - ARFF

The Drakher WYRM 8x8 is a powerful ARFF vehicle that can carry up to 14 000 liters of extinguishing agent with a top speed of 130 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 18 seconds. It has a crew of five firefighters and two passengers.

Turbocharged Truck Engine[drive.google.com]
It will replace the default large engine sound.

Pneumatic Sound[drive.google.com]
It will change the default "CLANK" sound of connectors and small magnets by a more discreet and less noisy pneumatic sound.

Note that custom sounds will revert to their original version with each update of the game.


The gearbox has seven gears in addition to reverse and parking. Press 1 (Prograde) to shift from Parking to 1st gear, the change of gears between the 1st and the 7th is automatic, but you can set it to manual. Shifting from the 7th to the 1st gear is however always automatic.
When the gearbox is set to Parking, you can press 2 (Retrograde) to toggle Rear. If you struggle to shift Rear or Parking, maintain S (Brake) at the same time.


Left and right blinkers are toggled with left and right keys, press two times left or right to toggle the warning lights, press a third time to reset.


The cruise control works like a real life cruise control, simply press Up or Down keys to raise or lower the target speed and toggle it. If you press W-Z (Throttle) or S (Brake), it will automatically toggle off.


By default the steering lever is set to 0, meaning the eight wheels will turn. The lever is not a multiplier of the steering ratio, it is just a switch.








The vehicle has three batteries:

1. B1 42V: Main power source and is connected to the electric generator, supplying essential systems such as engine components, crane, pumps and external connectors, the engine needs to run to use such equipments.
   
2. B2 24V: supply systems that need to be powered permanently when the engine is shutdown, such as doors, hoods and some lights, it also serve as a backup battery.
   
3. B3 12V: Supply the monitors and is also a backup battery.

External electric connectors are scattered across the vehicle where you can connect any equipment needed, the engine will automatically adapt to the power demand, however if the power drain is to much the connectors will be automatically be isolated from the main system. If such thing happens, you need to manually reset the connectors by pressing two times the RESET (big red) button on the electrical panel.


Fuel hose anchors are located between the rear wheels. The engine uses diesel.

• The main issue is wheel physics, the vehicle slips at the slightest slope, even with parking brake engaged. Off-roading is like driving on a icefield, so to have more grip, I suggest to jettison at least 4 000 L of water before rallying.
  
• The vehicle is remote control ready, but because we can't change the default sensibility and toggle buttons of the remote, I was unfortunately forced to disable it.
  
• The vehicle raises when the tank is emptying, as again it could be solved with adjustable pneumatic suspensions.
