Ceramics Crafting

Description
Adds a variety of ceramics and other materials from across various tech level to the game. only direct Crafting. kilns are back but as oven stile workbenches.

this is a port of N7Huntsmans ceramics mod, only crafting.

i just modified some parts that are already in 1.3 / Ideology

may use Clean Porcelain (+Silver).

this mod is a simplified version of Ceramics VEF.

This version got rid of all "item proccessor" mechanics of Vanilla Expanded Framework (Ceramics VEF) or Fermenter (original Ceramics)

You are able to craft the finished bricks on a ceramics Table or a ceramics Kiln, as you like.
More advanced workstations are able to craft all previous Brick types, except for the Processor Table.

The Primitive Kiln or Crafting Spot is used to craft Mudbricks out of Clay and Fiber.
The Basic Kiln or Ceramics Table is used to craft all Blocks. Brick or Porcelain out of Sand and Clay.
The electric counterparts do the same.

The Processor Table is used to craft Silica Wafer out of Steel, Sand and Silver or Hardend Ceramic (one of the strongest material even with most metal mods) out of Clay, Sand, Steel ans Silver.

The Silica Wafer are used to craft Components with some Steel at the Fabrication Bench.

Patches for Glass + Lights and Fertile Fields are implemented. Plus some fixes for CE, Deep Storage plus, Primitive Storage, Proxy Heat, Bad Hygiene and Simple FX Smoke.

many other mods are already compatible on their side.

A special thanks for dninemfive, ChJeez, and Jamacian Castle for their help as N7Huntsman updated his mod to 1.1.
Thanks go out to Wiri, for implementing a job tracking filter to major performance improvements.
Thanks to Owlchemist for his VEF mod versions, what inspired me.
And Last but not least Thanks to Oskar Potocki and all of the Vanilla Expanded Framework Team for their great Work.

Hi, I was wondering if this would be updated to 1.5?

@Xidon Eye
This mod seems to be triggering a NRE in the VE Framework's KCSG code (the basegen stuff).

I've let the VE team know about the NRE so they can get that fixed, but I suspect you'll want to see if you can track down what in this mod is causing it to trigger.

You should probably link this mod in vef ceramics page, a lot of people would be interested in this. Just say something along the lines of 'simplified ceramics without the ovens and better performance'.

@Fassina im glad you like it.

if there is still something missing or needs optimization. tell me, please.

This is what I always wanted from ceramics, none of silly cooking and drying mechanics. Sure realism is desirable, but when all it does is add extra complexity with no real benefit and lower performance it's not really worth it.

It's like mods that add leather tanning, or having to turn cotton into cloth, but on ceramics it was worse because it wasn't just an extra crafting recipe step you had to do.

It was this whole different mechanic and job type that was messy and performance heavy for no tangible benefit.

Rimworld is a simplified game in some aspects, plate armor is supposed to represent all types of plate armors from all over the world, adding a japanese specific plate armor is missing the point. Same thing with a sword, or an axe.

Look at how the game treats metals for instance, it's just steel and it comes out of the ground ready for use, no need to smelt or process it in any way.

This version of ceramics has a better implementation that is a better fit for rimworld.
why are we here? just to suffer? Dec 25, 2021 @ 8:41am

@SkyLarkBlue done, i think. a better Explanation for Ceramics VEF will folow. But for now:
Happy Holidays and Marry Christmas to everyone how gets fun out of it. :)

I'm not entirely sure what this includes. Or would it be easier for you to explain what you didn't include from the original? I always liked porcelain and brinks from this mod, but it does add a lot extra so I'm curious what you have trimmed out and otherwise tweaked.
