I can understand the hassle with the VLS/missile system especially considering the spacing.
Also thank you for the info with the towed array. I never found it in the first place, working or not and just wanted to have it deployed. After playing Cold Waters...this is mandatory procedure :-)
Hope you get to integrate the new sonar systems in this some day.
VLS is tough because i was limited by size i basically had to trim some accuracy off the rocket to make it launch vertically then find a target. best you can do is mark the target with a waypoint and use the co-ordnance as a best guess. moving targets are best left to torpedo. the missiles have targeting data pre-programmed before launch and you cant communicate with them after launch.
The guidance computer spawns with north facing up instead of north. the rocket launches up then has to change to a horizontal reference. as you can expect this causes headaches. There have been some new components that probably make this easier now but i had so much trouble making this work i haven't had the willpower to try again yet.
Closer targets will have lower accuracy just FYI
Towed array - How can one deploy it if at all?
VLS - I am an idiot when it comes to actually hitting anything with them. Do you need to exactly get the location of the enemy or does it have some wiggle room? Cause a moving target is near impossible to hit with them.
Other than that, I really enjoy this baby. Has the feels of a real smaller version of a 688. Nice "hard" work!
