Description
Boom's Nubia Tweak
Nubia is a neat little civ. A strong unique unit with a nice XP and production bonus to use it, as well as a nice sim bonus toward building districts. Unfortunately, the Nubian Pyramid is basically useless. It seems pretty cool in theory, gaining rainbow yields from surrounding districts, but the fact that it can only be built on desert and the minuscule yields hold it back. This of course also neuters the leader ability of faster districts when a pyramid is adjacent, since you are forced to settle adjacent to desert if you want to use it.

Changes
  • Nubian Pyramids receive additional yields from adjacent districts, but cannot be built adjacent to each other

    As I mentioned above, I like the idea of an improvement that doesn't directly give adjacency, but still gains the yields so its a sort of pseudo-adjacency. +1 however is too little in my opinion. As a result, I increased it to +2 yield adjacency, but to prevent extreme spam of this improvement, they cannot be built adjacent to each other, hopefully forcing the player to make intelligent city planning decisions.

  • Nubian Pyramids can now be built on Grasslands and Plains, but base yields are reduced

    Also as I mentioned above, the desert restriction of Nubian pyramids are extremely prohibitive to using them. The improvement is not good enough to incentivize desert settles on its own, and Nubia does not have other bonuses toward desert. As a result, I extended the placement rules for them to include Grasslands and Plains, but removed 1 faith and 1 food on their base yields in order to stop the player from gaining extremely strong yields early without being forced to work desert.

  • Nerfed Kandake of Meroa to 15/30% from 20/40%

    Now that Nubian Pyramids can be built adjacent to the City Center in nearly all cities, I reduced the percentage boost that it gives in order to stop all cities from having extremely fast districts.

Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with pretty much all other mods. It may not be compatible with other mods changing tile yields but try them together first, most mods should work fine with this mod. Again, if you run into an incompatibility, please tell me and I will update this description as well as work on fixing it.
Please feel free to leave feedback about compatibility, balance, bugs or anything else you would like to say to me :). Please enjoy my Nubia tweak!

If I, theoretically, had a mod that let me give the Nubian pyramid rework you have here to a civilization that has a unique district, would the Nubian pyramid work with it? If not, can I make it so?

yes, of course

Does this still work? I've added it to my game and can't see any changes. Do I need to start a new game?

I added to my personal copy of your mod:

<Improvement_ValidFeatures>

<Row ImprovementType="IMPROVEMENT_PYRAMID" FeatureType="FEATURE_FLOODPLAINS_GRASSLAND"/>
<Row ImprovementType="IMPROVEMENT_PYRAMID" FeatureType="FEATURE_FLOODPLAINS_PLAINS"/>

</Improvement_ValidFeatures>

to the file: BOOM_PYRAMID_TWEAK.xml

this way, the pyramid can be placed on plains floodplains and grassland floodplains.
