Amtrak 145 North

Description
Today you are in charge of the Northbound Pennsylvanian lead by Amtrak GE P42DC 145. Normally electric locomotvies such as the AEM-7 lead the service between Philly and NYC but today Amtrak engine 145 has taken the honor. In this scenario you will take the train to Trenton due to an incident calling at North Philly en-route. Difficulty: medium, duration: 35 minutes. Sorry for little bit of AI but game crashed on me!

Excellent! Nice quick short run. Perfect way for me to get my fix in before bed.

I thought maybe it was because of the tunnels being to small at first tof it them or that they'd get stuck. I'm surprised they didn't put the rivers over the tunnels.

I believe there's a ventilation system, alright, but the powers that be don't want any diesel exhaust at all in the enclosed terminals and tunnels. So yes, it's the diesel fumes that preclude diesel engines from going to either of the two Manhattan terminals.

How come diesels can't be in the tunnels going to NY? No ventilation system?
Los Fresnos Jun 1, 2014 @ 2:55pm
Okay on going only to Trenton. Sometimes diesels will take trains coming from south of Washington up as far as Philadelphia for an engine change. Technically, Newark would be the very last place to change to an electric, though it's usually not done there; it's done at Philly.

You only go to Trenton in this mission. Are diesels to big?
Los Fresnos Jun 1, 2014 @ 11:57am
I haven't run this one yet, but if there's no engine change prior to going into the North River tunnels we have a problem; diesels are a big no-no taking a train to Penn Station.
