Ideology Simplified - Raider

Description
This mod revamps the Raider meme:
- The mandatory "must raid every x days" stuff is dropped.
- The global work speed debuff is also gone.
- Raiders will gain a mood buff for participating in a raid. +6 for Respected and a whopping +12 for Required!


Why did you make this mod?
I love the idea of Ideology, but in its current state, I find it very restrictive. This is especially true when playing multi-ideo colonies. My hope is to make Ideology simpler, with a focus on rewarding the player rather than restricting or punishing them.


Doesn't this make the game too easy?
I don't think so. But that's ultimately up to you.

Is this mod compatible with x mod?
This mod is a simple XML patch. It should be compatible with most mods.


If this mod proves to be popular, I'll tackle some of the other memes too. :)

It would be nice if it also worked with Honored for Vanilla Ideology Expanded and Alpha Memes.

Bushido comes with Raiding: Honored as a requirement.

I agree - a minor buff like +mood in a active raid, and +mood for X days after a successful raid would make it viable. As is, still a HUGE improvement from the original, ty!

I like the not being on a constant raid cool down but perhaps a way to balance for the lack of it would be for other factions to have a permanent diplomacy debuff for being raiders, like the sadists from VFE? Otherwise thanks.

Nice mod, but I think Raider could use another buff. Raiding is extremely time consuming, expensive, and risky - if not the raid itself, then the fact that you are sending combat capable pawns outside the colony for days at a time.

I'm not sure what kind of buff, though. Perhaps a caravan speed buff? Or a lower risk of caravans getting ambushed?

I feel that, perhaps, Raiding: Required should have stayed the same (the current mechanics do feel appropriate for something that's required of the ideoligion), but something like this should be what Raiding : Respected should be. A mood (and maybe social boost) for participating in a raid says to me that they respect it without requiring it, but it being REQUIRED feels like yeah, they'd get antsy if they haven't gotten any raids in lately and whatnot.
Then again, I don't know if it can be changed like that.

Can this be added mid game, or would it need to be added at the start?

Also, I wanted to say. I really agree with you about the Ideologies being very restrictive. I can't wait until you simplify Transhumanist and Tunneler (if you do these). My favourite playstyle has always been transhuman dwarfs, and I was excited for Ideology to really let me embrace that. But I find both of these really restrictive, though Tunneler definitely more so, to the point that I was actually considering removing Ideology for this playthrough.
