Description
It is recommended to backup your player and universe files before downloading. As your universe will break when removing the mod from your list. Patches and Addons are at the bottom.


Project Ancient Cosmos is a large mod Endgame expansion, dealing with many ideas I've had for over a year and bringing experiences I've given to Frackin' Universe to those who don't necessarily like it. Centering around the new Tier 7 startype, the Black Hole, this mod adds in many new things to the base game without changing the mechanics much if at all.

How to Start
To start, you must have destroyed the Ruin. It is also recommended that you are familiar with the final mission in the Peacekeeper storyline. Speak to Esther again and she will task you with gathering Ancient Essence. Once you do that, follow her instructions and you'll be prepared for the journey ahead.


There are many additions to this mod, many of which centering around a specific planet type as a whole.

New Biomes
There are many new biomes with the new Cosmic planet type, each with their own structures and lore. Each can only be found on certain planets, so look around for all of them.

  • Over 100 Structures
  • 3 New Music Tracks

Ancient Mysteries
Scattered around the many worlds are encrypted codices that you cannot read on your own. So you must translate them yourself with the new Translation Table. These codices will give you new insights into the elusive Ancients, and certain items can be translated to give you more things to craft.

You may also come across many other codices written by those who sought these planets, though it is telling how fate dealt with them. Tread carefully.

New Equipment
With the creation of a new tier and star type, that means new equipment. This mod contains many new pieces of equipment based around new materials known as Celesteel and Fluxonite. These will make the planet exploration much easier and help get you to that next step in progression, as per the system.

However, there are technically 2 tiers of equipment in this one tier, the starter equipment, and the ones you have to work for. The second tier allows you to craft things like upgraded Unique Weapons, as long as you have the right items to craft them.

To figure out the recipe for these new pieces of equipment, you must scour the planets for unique items that are found in the many biomes. You must also have unlocked the Ancient Workbench, which can be unlocked after collecting an entire set of Ancient Codices and have found the Workbench Blueprint.

Cosmic Construction
This mod includes many new blocks and objects to make builds with, based around 3 new crafting materials: Galactree Wood, Enchanium, and Fluxonite. Each can make Galactree Wood building materials, Electrical Fluxonite building materials, and Ancient building materials respectively. These give you plenty of options to base new builds around.

Q: Will this mod ever be compatible with FU?
A: No, however an FU compatible version has been thought of, and may be made. However, the planets in this mod are similar to Frackin Universe's anyway. This mod is mainly for those who wish to get a new experience with the ideas shown in FU and for those who wish to experience the ideas without using FU.

Q: Will there be more updates in the future?
A: Yes, there are some future updates planned already.They will include new planets and environments, along with making existing ones better.

Q: Why can't I complete any of the quests?
A: You likely have to turn them in while holding the item you needed. Otherwise, report it to me.

Q: Do you need to restart the universe to get the new planets?
A: No, in fact you only need to load in new areas of the map and Black Holes will spawn.

Q: Where do I get Enchanium?
A: You craft it at an Ancient Furnace you can find at your Architect's Table, after the first quest of this mod.

Q: How do I get the Ancient Workbench?
A: You must find the Workbench Blueprint and talk to Koichi after completing the "Runes of the Ancients" quest.

Final Words
This mod has been in development for over a year now, so I hope you guys like it. However, since this is a big mod many things can slip through the cracks. If you have any bug reports and/or feedback, please let me know in the comments.
Also, if you wish to use any of my assets for something you are working on, don't hesitate to ask me. I want to know and will give you the go ahead if I like it.

I had a mod conflict which caused my game to crash on startup. Have too many mods to figure out where the issue lies but my biggest mods are FU, Arcana and Diverse Weather. Those are the only ones I can imagine would cause some sort of issue.

@Azuli-Bluespots The black hole is merely a parallax, due to the fact that oSB was barely developed by the time of its creation.

I could potentially do so, but I like the large imposing blackhole that never moves in the sky.

Btw, a serious question: Does this work with oSB to show the black hole or is that just a parallax?
There's some extra code in it that makes it so custom stars can show up in the sky of planets that orbit it. In there it's just simple stars with different colors, but nothing stops people from adding whatever they want to the sky.
