Hello :D

I present you the Dualies - Akai Akuma (red devil/demon). Initially it was to be named Onichan's Gift as it was inspired by Japanese Oni (demons) but after the completion I felt Akai Akuma was more fitting.



The theme of the gun was to make it look like it is meticulously handcrafted with care, so I went with the damuscus like pattern for the body using alpha channel for varying the phong exponent. Added carved letters and elements across the gun as well. Initially the whole body was only deep blue but that was looking too plain so I opted to add a gradient with green.

The devil was made to look as if it was carved into the slide. I made a custom height map which was then converted to a normal map to achieve the effect. It has a custom painted wear map to delay wear in the crevices and indents.
