More Propaganda Posters

Description
This is a fork of @BORO's Posters, Flags, Street Clocks (Workshop Item 2388118913) mod with 72 propaganda posters.

There are 32 unique large poster designs, 23 medium/small poster designs, 9 unique medium poster designs, and 5 unique small poster designs. Each building has 32 available posters to choose from.

Due to engine limitations, this mod and @BORO's mod do not share posters.
To use the posters in this mod, build one of the three 'More Propaganda Posters' buildings. You can safely install this mod alongside @BORO's mod.

Because of Steam Workshop limitations, this mod has been divided into sets, as below. Subscribing to this mod will prompt you to subscribe to all sets.

@ Adil3tr Do you mean @ BORO 's mod ? There are only a couple of propaganda posters in that mod, for sure, but it also comes with a few other neat things, like flags and street clocks.

In any case, thank you! Steam has been weird about keeping this mod under wraps, for whatever reason.

Can't believe I didn't know about this mod, it's a lot better than the other one.

For everyone who is making their own modifications to this mod: the "all_texture" folder has been renamed as "common", in order to better harmonize with other mods. This is a one-time change, and no other renamings should occur.

@ Doctor_Yang (1/3) Oh, I see! You could overwrite the DDS files that correspond to each poster. These files are named "poster_Y_XX.dds", where "Y" refers to the size of the poster (from 1 to 3, with 1 being the largest) and "XX" refers to the poster number (from 02 to 32). Therefore, if you replace one of the existing DDS files with a new file, you'll replace one of the existing posters with a new poster.

You can find a list of all the Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic mods you've subscribed to within your Steam installation directory (by default, "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\784150"). The poster building's mod ID is 2630876199, and the mod IDs for the posters themselves are as follows:

2631778872: Set A, Large Posters 1
2631804793: Set B, Large Posters 2
2631805712: Set C, Medium Posters 1
2631807199: Set D, Medium Posters 2
2631807333: Set E, Small Posters 1
2632882671: Set F, Small Posters 2

@ Doctor_Yang (2/3) However, simply overwriting the DDS files means that Steam could undo your changes at any time, since those files are inside the Steam installation directory. The simplest workaround is to store your posters in a separate place, and re-copy them into the mod folder whenever Steam undoes your changes.

I recommend creating your poster in an image editor like Photoshop, and keeping a copy of the poster in the editor's native format (such as PSD for Photoshop). The large posters have a width to height ratio of 2:3, the medium posters have a ratio of 3:2, and the small posters have a ratio of 13:10.

When you're ready, export the image as a DDS file with DXT1 compression, and including mipmaps; then copy the exported file to one of the poster set directories, overwriting the existing poster.

@ Doctor_Yang (3/3) If you use Photoshop, you can find a plug-in for working with DDS files on NVIDIA's website here [developer.download.nvidia.com] (32-bit) and here [developer.download.nvidia.com] (64-bit). There are also mirrors for these files on Archive.org , if NVIDIA's links ever go bad. It's important to use version 8.55, since newer versions do not include support for DXT1 compression.

If you don't use Photoshop, the GIMP is a free program that has native support for DDS files.

I hope that helps! It's not a simple process, exactly; feel free to ask further questions, if necessary.

How can I change into my own poster? And thank you for your reply:steamthumbsup:

@ Doctor_Yang I'm not sure what you mean to ask. If you want to switch to a new poster, click on the billboard building; then click on the "spraypaint" button. This cycles through the available posters.

Make sure that you are subscribed to all poster sets. Due to limitations of Steam, the billboard building is in one mod (listed on this page), and the posters themselves are in separate mods.

My apologies for not responding sooner. I've been away.
