Tribal Essentials Reborn! My impatient fork of the long-running Tribal Essentials/Tribal Reborn/ZARS Tribalism mod. It's gone through at least three authors and multiple "official" and "unofficial" ports, why not another?

I was trying to be patient and wait for the ZARS Tribalism update (or splitting off, or whatever they had planned to do with it) - so to pass the time I started looking at the mod, cleaning it up, I created a spin-off Smoked Meat mod, updated the TribalInstruments mod, noticed in passing that Mlie had updated an old, old RimRue mod (that was absorbed into Tribal Essentials a few versions later anyway) and I figured - now is the time. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Besides, I missed the enhanced Tribal capabilities.

Mod details:

This mod adds new tribal items for those players who want to play a tribal scenario and who don't want to rush into research. It includes joy items, production spots for butchering, brewing, art, tailoring, stonecutting and researching (I recommend ZARS Production Spots, they're superior), a smokepit, a stone oven, psychoid tea, cooked eggs, popcorn, and art, apparel, walls and flooring.

Apparel:
- Woven Hats and Cloaks (made from dried grass or pounded bark) - child size included
- Muffalo Headdress (an impressive hat which yields a small Social boost)
- Tribal Helmet (a wooden tribal helmet; requires "Smithing" research)
- Tribal Armor (a tough hide coat with wooden slat armor; requires "Smithing" research)

Furniture:
- Storage Box (a place to hide ugly items or to protect perishable items from the elements)

Items:
- Cooked eggs (since you can't use eggs in pemmican; unfertilized are default, fertilized selectable)
- Crafting Basket (a tribal version of the toolchest, made from hay, which boosts production speed)
- Large and Small Rugs
- Large and Small Totems
- Popcorn (gives joy, but not much nutrition)
- Psychoid Tea (a social drug that can also help fight disease)
- Urns and Decorative Pots

Joy Objects:
- Three Stones Game (a tribal version of chess)
- Tribal Lore Fire (a place for tribals to gather, share stories, and gain a small Social skill boost)

Production:
-Art, Brewing, Butchering, Researching, Stonechipping and Tailoring Spots (I recommend using ZARS Production Spots, it integrates and is superior)
- Stone Oven (a primitive oven, better than a campfire for cooking food) (can now be rotated)

Security:
- Earthen Mounds (more protection than rock chunks, but not as much as sandbags)
- Pitfall Trap (a deep pit with sharp spikes; requires "Basic Traps" research)

Walls and Floors:
- Barn Board Floor (uses less wood to build, lower filth %)
- Log Walls (like wood walls, but with a log texture)
- Rough Paving (uses less stone to build)
- Random Paving (requires "Stonecutting" research)

1.3 update notes:

Smoked meat has been removed as I reworked it in my mod "Zal's Smoked Meat". If that is installed before this mod, all of its capabilities should be available and the Stone Oven will be able to smoke meat, fish (if you have either RF OR Vanilla Expanded OR Thanks For All The Fish OR FishingIndustry fishing mod earlier in your mod order) and fungus (if you have Ideology DLC).
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2594528677 (vanilla)
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2671357344 (Processor Framework edition)

I removed all "Tribal Raiders" integration/assemblies. I figure that there's really no need for it anymore with raider tribal factions in Core.

Patches for the Stone Oven, ZARS Production Spots, etc. are all still included and appear to be working correctly. All items except smoked meat (smoked meat, smokepit) have been retained.

Recommended mods to enhance your Tribal experience:
Research Tree (Continued) - cleans up research tree
Zal's Smoked Meat (vanilla or Processor Framework versions available)
TribalInstruments (Royalty)
Tribal Signal Fire (Continued)
Tribal Jewelry (Continued)
Primitive Floors (Continued)
Primitive Workbenches
Primitive Storage
Primitive Tools

Updated: Fix to log walls, should now be paintable and allow wall hanging. Thanks for your patience.

Is there a way to code the tailoring/crafting spots to also allow for mending and recycling? There are mods that add that feature but it's for like post-tribal tech.

Thanks for your work. I can't place new vanilla wall torch lamps on log walls.

hi i wanna say that with this modlist, stone cutting which is neolithic research are locked behind basic workbench which is medieval tech lvl and that kinda ruin a bit of starting run https://rentry.co/fkib3z6h

Hahah I just came back here to comment that I suddenly noticed all the TER stuff was gone and you patched it, you cheeky fucker you :)

I was going to next do EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING and work on some kind of broad patch for all the other stuff. You've correctly identified most of the 'major' mods that need patches (obviously patching EVERY mod ever is a little unrealistic but you're hitting the big ones that anyone interested in Tribal starts is probably rocking).

Well. That's how I was going to spend my day. Um. Thanks man!

The last update I pushed recently contained VFE - Tribals compatibility for this mod, its Log Wall should be hidden. When I have a moment, I will try to put a patch into place to address VFE:Architect as you describe. I'm a little busy working on this combined patch mod for VFE - Tribals at the moment: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3080282352
