Description
updated to 1.4!

psyPlus adds fifteen (and counting!) new vanilla-like psycasts into the game.

this mod is in like super early access. currently, only "word"-like abilities have icons, the rest are coming soon. all icons have been completed! please comment with suggestions/balances and I will see what I can do. this is my first mod ever! psyPlus is inspired by a post i read here by bl1tz3n.

new psycasts
  • word of vigor (1): psychically reduce sleepiness and increase alertness in a target by altering their brain chemistry.
  • word of release (1): use triggering words and psychic suggestion to begin a mental break on a person or animal. this only works if the target is already at risk for a mental break.
  • word of immunity (1): speak encouraging words while using psychic suggestion to boost the target's immune system. the target will gain immunity to their ailments faster for a period of time.

  • word of slumber (2): whisper slow and gently, using psychic suggestion to trigger the sleeping mechanisms of the target's brain. the target will be unable to stay awake, falling asleep for a short period of time.
  • overdrive (2): psychically accelerate the target's body and mind, highly boosting their physical and mental capacities for a period of time. after a while, the target will fall into a small comatose to let the body rest.
  • mass burden (2): suppress motor activity in everyone near the target point, slowing them down for a short time.
  • mass stun (2): disrupt motor function in everyone near the target point, preventing their movement for a short time.

  • word of hate (3): speak about someone's mistakes and flaws while using psychic suggestion to implant hatred in the listener.
  • discharge (3): microskip nearby electrons around a target, generating a voltage potential and shocking the target. may be used to ignite flesh targets, cause malfunctions in robotic targets or even charge batteries.
  • degrade (3): deteriorate a target's gear. psychically emulate an orbital trade beacon, temporarily marking a target's equipment for sale. the target's gear will slowly be beamed to distant trade ships, atom by atom.

  • evict(4): chaotically farskip the target to a distant location. without a person on the other side to serve as a navigation beacon, the target will be heavily disoriented and may be unable to move due to skipgate sickness.
  • word of friendship(4): speak about someone's virtues and merits while using psychic suggestion to implant admiration in the listener.

  • empathize(5): through psychic channels, open the one's mind to the emotions and burdens of fellow colonists, and transfer negative emotions to oneself. other colonists will feel deeply relieved by this process, but it leaves the caster psychically and emotionally overwhelmed with horrible memories, fears, and emotions.

  • pact of mercy (6): create a mechanite beacon out of the caster's Psylink, immediately attracting dormant mechanites to your colony. every colonist around will be flooded with mechanites, including protoype healer mechanites which will rapidly heal their injuries. because the mechanites are so attracted to the beacon, they will all first violently enter the body of the caster in an attempt to reach the Psylink, destroying their body in the process.
  • pact of spite (6): speak to an archotech through the psychic field, offering the minds of every creature nearby to be assimilated as AI persona slaves. every hostile around will be immediately killed as their brains are superskipped to a distant archotech. because clearly communicating with an archotech is extremely difficult, the wrong people may get their brains skipped sometimes. the caster's entire body will the superskipped for examination by the archotech -- they will not survive this process.

compatibility
i have tested this with my main modlist and (including CE) and have not noticed any issues yet...

Hey Nookli, I've been trying to figure out how to make an adjustment to vanilla's Farskip and I've been having very little luck. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to see the source file for the evict psycast you've created? Or if there was any pointer you could give me on how I could learn what I need to do, it would be super appreciated!

oh, i was going to ask if it worked with vanilla psycast expanded too but i guess I don't need to.

It's a new Vanilla Expanded mod that add alot to the psycasting mechanics, making them into skill tress.

hey @Drago Duval im not familiar with that mod, is something broken? i'll look into possibly reworking the slumber psycast also
