#66 Northeast Regional [CP042]

Description
In 1972, Amtrak began offering sleeping car service on an overnight Northeast Corridor train called the Night Owl. The Night Owl was superseded by the Twilight Shoreliner in 1997, which itself was replaced by the Federal in 2003. The following year, equipment shortages forced Amtrak to discontinue sleepers on the Northeast Corridor. It took almost 17 years before Amtrak received their next order of Viewliner sleeping cars, the arrival of which enabled Amtrak to finally restore sleeper service on overnight Northeast Regional trains 65/67 and 66 in April 2021.

In this scenario, you're the engineer of Northeast Regional train 66 and you'll be taking the train from Washington to Baltimore, making intermediate stops at New Carrollton and BWI Airport. You have an ACS-64 for power pulling 1 baggage car, 1 Viewliner I sleeper, 1 Amfleet I cafe-business, and 4 Amfleet I coaches.

Difficulty: Easy
Duration: 45 minutes

This scenario requires the following DLC:

- Northeast Corridor: Washington DC - Baltimore Route Add-On

Thank you! I just bought the route and decided to make some scenarios after realizing that there aren't very many for it, so I've basically been taking a crash course all week learning about operations here.

Your impressive knowledge of the scenario background set your scenarios apart. Thanks for another great job. It would have been great to see the consist in daylight.

I saw your review, Carlos. I agree, the route should have at least gone to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, but, at least Brandon and some of his friends are making a freeware version from PHL to WAS.

Thanks! I bought this route because it’s on sale right now and then I realized there are barely any workshop scenarios for it. The route itself is gorgeous but I just wish it was longer. A run from end to end takes as little as 35 minutes.

Wow, I am impressed. Nice to see a scenario depicting electric operation. If I ever buy the BAL - WAS (Amtrak station codes) DLC, I'll definitely add these to my list.
