The First Step[fallout.fandom.com]
After reporting back to Preston as mentioned above, he will then ask you to help rebuild the Minutemen. After agreeing, Preston will ask you to travel to a nearby settlement and help them out. Travel there and talk to their leader, the settler will point you to a raider hideout and ask that they are eliminated. Once the raiders eliminated, collect your reward from the settler and talk to Preston to complete the quest.

To continue the Minutemen questline you must agree to become the General of the Minutemen

Taking Independence[fallout.fandom.com]
Once you have recruited at least four settlements to the Minutemen cause, this quest can begin.
The next time Preston is talked to, he will bring up the idea of retaking the Castle. Tell Preston you're ready to attack to continue with the quest.
At this point, head to the Castle and meet Preston, then help the Minutemen eliminate the enemies in the Castle. Once everything has been cleared out, use the Castle's workshop to power up the radio transmitter, Preston will express his happiness at the success of the mission as the quest completes.

Approximately three days after the Minutemen retake the Castle, Ronnie Shaw will arrive there.

Old Guns[fallout.fandom.com]
To begin the quest travel to the Castle and talk to Ronnie, she will inform you of a hidden armory. She will then lead you to a steel door that cannot be opened from the outside.
After talking to Ronnie again, she will lead you to an alternate entrance : a tunnel blocked by some rubble, simply scrap it with the Castle's workshop. At the other end of the tunnel Ronnie will open a steel door leading into the armory. Ronnie will tell you to grab the schematics as well as smoke grenades and then build some artillery to do a test fire.
At this point, you will need to use the Castle's workshop to build an artillery piece and assign a settler to operate it. With the artillery operational, you can then proceed to the test area, tune in to Radio Freedom, and toss a smoke grenade to call in the test strike. Once moved out of range, the artillery will bombard the area. With the test successful, the Sole Survivor can report back to Preston to complete the quest.

🏡Settlement Achievements
Sanctuary[fallout.fandom.com]
Start the quest by talking to Sturges, who will offer a series of four tasks to complete for the settlement:
  • Provide beds
When building beds, they must be inside a building to count towards the quest.

  • Provide water

  • Provide food
In order to plant crops, you need to obtain the associated food item. Wild variants do not count.
A settler also needs to be assigned for the crop to count towards the food supply.

  • Provide defenses
A single turret will provide enough defense rating to complete the quest.
After completing each objective, you will need to speak to Sturges again to receive the next one (even if you built everything ahead of time). After the final objective is complete, Sturges will thank you, ending the quest.

Community Organizer[fallout.fandom.com]
Become allied with 3 different settlements.
Talk to Preston Garvey to receive information about settlements that have requested aid.

Show Off[fallout.fandom.com]
Display a weapon on a weapon rack, armor on an armor rack, and power armor in a power armor display.

Each display can be found in the Workshop Menu under Decorations > Display.
  • Armor Rack: Any single piece of apparel can be transferred and equipped to qualify.

  • Weapon Rack: There are different racks for different classes of weapons. Only a single rack needs to be built, then a qualifying weapon can be transferred and displayed.

  • Power Armor Display: Must be powered then activated with an unoccupied suit of power armor nearby; the armor will be transferred to the rack in a fashion similar to using a power armor station.
Once all three qualifications have been met, the achievement will unlock.

Mass Production[fallout.fandom.com]
Produce 100 objects from your builders.

Just like in the video, once you've got enough resources, build as many builders as you want and then connect them to a power source, put steel or whatever junk you want into the builders and finally wait for the achievement to pop-up.
One builder will take 30 minutes or so to unlock the achievement. Naturally, more builders will unlock the achievement faster.

Time Out[fallout.fandom.com]
Assign a settler to a pillory.
The pillory is located under Resources > Miscellaneous

Commanding a companion to "investigate" the pillory will still cause them to become locked in it but doing so will not unlock the achievement.

Instigator[fallout.fandom.com]
Start a spectated arena fight in a settlement.

To start an arena fight, you must build the blue and red arena pads near one another and then assign creatures or settlers to them.
Prior to beginning the fight, you must build and activate the Quitting Time Siren in order for the fight to be considered spectated, otherwise the achievement will not be unlocked. For best results it should be built near the arena pads.

Trapper[fallout.fandom.com]
Build one of every cage type.

Only the default 15 cages are required for this achievement. The gorilla cage, which may be unavailable depending on story progression, is not necessary.
The cages do not all have to be built at the same settlement. They just have to be built once each at any settlement.
The cages do not have to successfully catch an enemy or creature, nor do they even have to be supplied with electricity. The achievement pops when the 15th cage is built.

Docile[fallout.fandom.com]
Have five tamed creatures in a settlement.
Rank 1 of the Animal Friend and Wasteland Whisperer perks are required to obtain this achievement.
Creatures are counted as "tamed" by releasing a trapped creature in the presence of an activated Beta Wave Emitter located under Cages > Miscellaneous.
IMPORTANT : This achievement will not unlock if attempted with domestic animals, such as cats, dogs or gorillas.
It is recommended to "tame" five of the same kind because creatures are hostile towards different kind of creatures.

The hardest achievement of them all
Benevolent Leader[fallout.fandom.com]
Reach maximum happiness (100🙂) in a large settlement.

  • It is highly recommended to have Rank 2 of the Cap Collector and Local Leader perks.

  • It is recommended to do this late-game as you should have plenty of resources by now.

  • Settlers that have pre-assigned beds or jobs interfere with the overall happiness equation. (i.e. The Slog).
I recommend using a completely empty settlement such as Red Rocket truck stop, as you are sure you won't have pre-assigned or named settlers.

  • Do not use robots as their happiness are limited to 50%

  • I do not recommend assigning a companion to the chosen settlement for this achievement.

  • Not having an assigned task will cause a settler's happiness to decrease.

  • Make sure you provided enough water, food, beds (covered) and defense.

  • Only clothing stores, traders, bars and clinics make settlers happier. Bars provide the most happiness out of all the tier-3 stores.
I still recommend having at least one of each (Weapons and armor excluded) then simply spamming the bars.

  • To get additional happiness, one can use junkyard dogs, house cats and gorillas, or slot machines, soda fountains, phoropters, weight benches and pommel horses from the Vault-Tec Workshop add-on.

  • To see if the happiness is rising or decreasing one must quit the workshop and open it again.

Common misconceptions :
- The size of the settlement has to be large.
In spite of the achievement's description, the size of the settlement does not have to be large (i.e. yellow/orange color).
- It is required to have at least 20 settlers.
You do not need to actually have a large amount of settlers, I personally got this achievement with 15 settlers and some have even done it with only 1 settler (video below).
Actually, for every additional settler the happiness bonus applied is effectively divided between them

Hardcore mode sucks. I beat Fallout New Vegas on hardcore mode and the worst part about it was that ammo had weight.

In case anyone is curious, if you are going for the "Docile" Achievement where you need 5 tamed creatures, they don't need to be the exact same types of variants if the cage you are using catches a variety of variants of a species such as Mirelurks.
I got the achievement from the Mirelurk cages and I had three different types of mirelurks for a total of 5 and I still got the achievement.
ZombieLover84 Oct 8, 2022 @ 12:07am
You can use all the mods you want and still get achievements IF one of those mods enables achievements with mods on. There at at least two mods I know of that make it so you can fully mod the game and still get achievements.

Just do a search on Nexus for "achievements". I have over 400 mods active at the moment and I'm earning them just fine.
FireBot Xp May 19, 2022 @ 8:25pm
have you downloaded any mod? because mods that aren´t from the creators club disable achievements

I can't get the Ranger Corps achievement. Even though I found all of the locations in the Commonwealth. I got every achievement except for this one
