This mod has been updated to 1.4, fixing some stuff along the way and even making it non-reliant on Ideology!
No Spouse is a solution for players who don't want their pawns to engage and get married, this is achieved by selecting the corresponding precept in your ideology menu.
Otherwise, if you don't have Ideology, marriage's chance to occur is still reduced to zero!









  • Arranged marriage may still happen.
  • If a colonist propose marriage to another one, it's a bug, mustn't happen, never. Very likely it's an incompatibility with another mod. Good news are, even if it occurs, the proposal will be rejected.



  • Psychology is 95% likely to cause issues since both mods alter the same result, haven't tested it though.
  • Rational Romance shouldn't cause major issues, my mod is likely to override its changes to marriage proposal chances, the rest of its mechanics should work fine.
  • Romance Tweaks should work fine since it affects romance in general (lovers, dating, etc) rather than marriage proposal. Not tested though.



Q: Is this mod compatible with X ?
A: See above.

Q: Is it safe to add mid-save?
A: It is, however since precepts are set at the beginning of the game, either you edit them with devmode or create a new save.

Q: Is it safe to remove mid-save?
A: Not at all. May throw a few errors at first. I don't recommend doing that.

@automatic. I'm having the same problem. I have a poly community where I wanted everyone to be lovers but not get married, but since then, nobody even gets together as lovers anymore.

@AUTOMATIC I'm planning on remaking this mod, probably 70% of it, this is one of my first ever mods and since I had very little experience the mod ended up veeeery buggy

After I enabled the precept, colonists stopped falling in love. Before they were becoming lovers and then marrying non-stop, and marriages actually were taking so much time that I had to get this mod to make it stop. Well, now colonists won't become lovers. I had just one event of one colonist becoming a lover of another, and the game classified it as an affair (with an orange message box and a menacing sound).
