Templates for HOI4

For Jaden and Nick, because they don't know how to play this game.

Army Templates

Standard Infantry- Used to hold the front-line, not ideal for attacking without CAS and Fighter support.






Coastal/Guard Troops- Used to defend ports and victory points where there is a high chance of a naval invasion, you will be wasting equipment if you attack with these troops.









Anti-Tank Troops- Meant to be placed on front-line against oncoming tanks, can't defend on their own.










Tank Division- Good at attacking, bad at defending. Light tanks have higher speed than mediums but aren't as good in prolonged combat. Can be changed to a medium tank version depending on nations economy/geographical situation.






Tank/SPG Division- Slightly cheaper version of normal tank division, good for attacking infantry. I use this early game or if I am playing a minor nation so I can field more divisions.







Marine Infantry- Good for attacking across rivers and naval invasions.

Navy Templates

Battleship- Use in a 1:4 ratio with screen ships. Good for naval invasion support and strike force missions.








Heavy Cruiser- Same as BB, just cheaper. If you aren't fighting the US, UK, or Japan use these. Good for naval invasion support and strike force missions.










Screen Light Cruiser- Should be used as screen ships when paired with CAs and BBs.










Escort Light Cruiser- Should be used in escort task forces in a 1:3 ratio with DDs.








Destroyer- Main screen ship, meant to be disposable and destroy enemy subs.










Submarines- Use in packs of 10, 20, or 40 for convoy raiding missions. Never use in shallow sea or near enemy airbases.
