Backing up your loadouts
Once you've made all of your loadouts leave the game and open the %appdata% folder.

From there go to Local -> Insurgency -> Saved -> SaveGames -> Profile

You should see a Theater.json file. That's where your loadout data is stored. Copy the file and save it somewhere else on your computer. When you do that you'll have successfully backed up your loadouts.
What to do when your loadouts are wiped
In order to retrieve your lost loadouts you have to copy the backed up Theater.json file and then navigate to the 'Profile' folder using the pathway shown in the last section. Then simply Paste 'Theater.json' and confirm that you want to replace the file that's already in the folder. Once you launch your game you should have your loadouts back.

In 1.14 the location of the files has changed, it is now in the SteamProfile folder here: %localappdata%\Insurgency\Saved\SaveGames
If you want to restore you pre-1.14 loadouts, settings & cosmetic presets paste contents of the profile folder from the same directory to the SteamProfile folder.

Hey, just to add one more tip. If your loadouts is made well and you are feeling like "I won't change it for a while" - you can mark them as Read-Only.
You can still work around your loadouts in the game, however, upon exiting the game it won't be saved - so next time you launch the game, the Read-Only-saved loadouts will come up. Same goes for the rest of these files, if annoyed by "Custom Color Scheme not saving and reverts back to Default" or so.
