Call For Intel

Beskrivning
This is a reupload of 8Z's mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2240610130

Changes and fixes:
  • Updated to 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and fixed broken defs
  • Support of worksites quests
  • Support of quests from Vanilla Factions Expanded - Ancients (2 quests)
  • Support of the strange crash event from AndroidTiers mod (versions 1.2-1.3 only)
  • Requesting quests shares a cooldown with military aid requests (unlike the original mod behaviour sharing the cooldown with trade caravan requests)
  • Support for small and medium ruins quest from the Medieval Overhaul mod
  • Made all intel costs and intel request cooldown configurable
  • German translation added (thanks Dimos for the provided translation)

Let me know if there are any issues.

Original desciption:
Desperate for a quest item? Itching for a bandit camp to fight? With this mod, you can call other factions to get quests at will!

Functionality
After installing the mod, the comms console will have a new option - Request Intelligence. When calling an ally, you can use this option to choose between various types of quests/incidents.

There are currently these choices:
  • Hostile activity (10 goodwill)
  • Trading deals (15 goodwill)
  • Locations of interest (15 goodwill)
  • Refugees and slaves (25 goodwill)
  • Legendary creatures (10 goodwill) (Only available at Viking factions in VFE-V)
  • Bounties (10 goodwill) (Only available at Settler factions in VFE-S)

You will immediately receive a quest after choosing, but there will be a cooldown (shared with trade caravans).

Compatibility
This mod is safe to add and remove mid-save and should be compatible with everything (including Raids For Me).

This mod doesn't require Royalty, and doesn't interfere with it. (I don't have Royalty and cannot test for it yet)

The following mods have integrated support:

Vanilla Factions Expanded - Vikings
  • Legendary graves and ancient dangers can be given as Locations of interest intel
  • You can ask for a legendary raid at any viking faction
Vanilla Factions Expanded - Settlers
  • Caravan raid can be given as Hostile activity intel
  • You can ask for a bounty at any settler faction
Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval
  • Castle ruins and Tournament can be given as Locations of interest intel
Go Explore
  • Lost Cities, ambrosia animals and (rarely) Ship core startup can be given as Locations of interest intel

@Brooks is it possible that the mod got corrupted or partially downloaded?
I tried to make my game crash, and it works fine so far.
Can you try unsubscribing and resubscribing please?
GwinnBleidd  [skapare] 11 jul, 2024 @ 16:21
@Brooks when does it crash, when you start the game, load the save or request a quest through a comms console?
Brooks 11 jul, 2024 @ 1:40
It appears your recent update is making my game freeze and crash. Reverting to the previous version has my game run smoothly. No errors in the log.

Ah, yes. I resubscribed and that seems to have fixed it. However now I have a different problem where I have accidentally duplicated the mod into its 1.4 and 1.5 versions, and can't seem to get rid of the 1.4 version. Though at this point it's out of your hands.

@D3K43 then, it wasn't updated from the workshop to support v1.5.
Try unsubscribing, and removing the folder manually (if the mod manager allows that), before resubscribing again

@GwinnBleidd Hm, that's strange, there actually ISN'T a 1.5 folder in the mod's folder. I opened the mod's folder directly from Rimpy

@D3K43 is there an option to ignore that warning and try it anyway?
I haven't used Rimpy Mod Manager but I don't see why it would claim that.
When you open the downloaded folder for this mod (2557139479), does it have 1.5 subdirectory and the dll?
D3K43 24 apr, 2024 @ 6:01
I tried unbsubscribing then resubscribing, and the issue didn't change.

For some reason, Rimpy Mod Manager doesn't like this mod. Says its version is incompatible with the game version.

Since bounties aren't restricted to settler factions (in dev mode, you can enable a bounty quest without settlers or bandits and it works completely fine), is it possible to add requesting bounties from non-settler factions? I'd like to go bounty hunting pirates for spacer factions, just a request.
