Only Mechanoid Clusters

Description
Removes mechanoid regular raid chance, but leaves mechanoid cluster event intact.

This alters the vanilla mechanoid faction def directly, so it may not be compatible with anything else that also mods the vanilla mechanoid faction itself. Probably works in earlier Rimworld versions fine.

Are you tired of the main raid to worry about being mechanoids while everything else is a breeze? Do you still like mechanoid clusters since they usually feel like less of a grindy slog? So do I. Unfortunately, just turning off the mechanoid faction also turns off clusters and mechanoids in quests. With this mod you can have your mechanoid cluster cake and eat it without any mechanoids just walking into your map.

the new royalty mechanoid raids are op as fuck. This mod appears to disable them.

Do you think you could cook up the inverse of this mod? I'm pretty chill with mechanoid raids, but I f****** hate the clusters, especially past the midgame when they grow ridiculously large. Just had one cover about a quarter of my map, with half a dozen auto-mortars, about 25 turrets and at least a hundred heavy mechanoid units... -.-

It might increase cluster risk if it's too cold for anyone but mechanoids to raid (in which case it might reroll big threat type until something viable comes up), but otherwise this shouldn't increase cluster vs raid chance according to the future map incidents roll testing I did. The first roll is to see the big threat type (like raid vs cluster), and if it rolls raid then it will be a raid as long as some faction can still come. So it should still generally be ~4 raids per cluster on average assuming you meet the raid point requirement for clusters to happen.

actually i meet that in normal forest too , i though it just a small bug that had a small chance to happen.

well i know about that, but disable the mechanoid regular raid still make the dice had a way more bigger chance to roll to clusters specially when you bit most of faction , just trying to tell ppl the risk on disabling this.

I haven't had any real issues with that since I don't play on island kind of maps, but if you want to disable clusters dropping on your map as well you can disable the event in scenario so mechanoids still show up in quests. Or if you don't want even those mechanoids, then in 1.3 you can just disable the mechanoid faction. There didn't seem to be an in game way to disable just the on-map raid part, hence this mod.

This mod should also not cause more clusters to drop than usual, since mech clusters are a separate event in the pool from raids. So you just get your regular mechanoid raids replaced with other factions.

tbh very very bad idea, in my experience clusters spawn is broken and never been fix.:bbtcat:

the cluster spawn meth mod is testing "did that one title is in door and have roof", which means if your base is not seal in one room they may gonna drop right on your road of the base like a droping raid, even you bit them lot of things gonna explode in cluster making the cleaning very hard.

and the chance this happen is bigger if your map is smaller, like a island or something , or maybe you already smash a lot of faction making mechanoids is the only raid will spawn.

why i know about this? last time i play on island with a mod call rimwar and it makes mechanoids is the only faction can raid me, that makes i get a cluster target my road and drop most of thing on my bedroom every like 12 hour.
