[WoTC]ADVENT Assault Troopers

Description
This mod adds four new Advent enemies, three new grenades, two new vests, one new ammo type, new status effects, and a new ability for the lost. Assault Troopers are Advent units equipped with shotguns and grenade launchers.

WHAT IS IN THIS MOD:

  • 4 New Advent Enemies, Assault Trooper with Advanced and Elite variants, and the Assault Trooper Captain.
  • 3 new grenades, the magnetic grenade which can cause knockback, laser grenade which pierces armor, and the radiation grenade which can inflict multiple status effects.
  • 2 new vests, the lead lined vest which protects against the new radiation status effects, and the lead lined hazmat vest which protects against fire, poison, and acid in addition of radiation.
  • 1 new ammo type, Radiation ammo.
  • Radiation burn status effect, which decreases defense and dodge on top of dealing damage.
  • Boiling blood status effect, which decreases aim and mobility on top of dealing damage.
  • Irradiated status effect, decreases aim and mobility, in addition robotic units have lose hack defense and have their aim decrease even further.
  • Lost radiation regeneration status effect, when the lost are attacked with radiation weapons they'll start regenerating health, in addition to that they also become supercharged which increases their mobility, aim, and crit chance.

INFO:

ADVENT Assault Trooper

Assault Troopers are shotgun wielding troopers, they come with light armor plating and utilize a grenade launcher to launch magnetic grenades.

ADVENT Advanced Assault Trooper

The higher force level variant of the Assault Trooper, they're pretty much the same but come equipped with laser grenades.

ADVENT Elite Assault Trooper

Elite Assault Troopers are equipped with radiation grenades and ammo, and have increased mobility. Their shotgun is more accurate at long range, and they exclusively use the rapid fire ability to shoot at you.

ADVENT Assault Trooper Captain

The Assault Trooper Captain is also equipped with radiation grenades and ammo, their shotgun is even more accurate at longer ranges but they lose the rapid fire ability and extra mobility. Like the standard Advent Officer he can also mark your soldiers.


Other changes:

  • The Spectre and Purifier are immune to radiation.

KNOWN ISSUES:

None at the moment.

COMPATIBILITY:

Should be compatible with most stuff, in particular the Lost stuff should be compatible with Lost added by World War L, and with the Lost from the Bio Division mod from Team CX. I believe it should also be compatible with Lost enemies added by ABA, but i'm not 100% sure.

FAQ:

Are there any tech rewards for killing these dudes?

Yes, the Magnetic, Laser, Radiation grenade, the two vests, and the Radiation ammo are all unlocked by performing autopsies on the Assault Troopers.

Do i need to start a new campaign for these dudes?

Theoretically no, but if you want to be on the safe side and make sure everything works then you should start a new campaign, and make sure you refresh your .inis(You do this by deleting all the .inis within "Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config" and launching the game)

Nothing for this mod, but i have ideas for more radiation enemies in the future.

Thank you Claus for the cool enemy! I really like their looks and theme. Although I agree with that other comment stating that their accuracy might be too low - in my many, many encounters with them my soldiers have been hit a grand total of *single* time by them. Also not sure if they have any sort of restriction set on their grenade usage as I have not ever seen them launch one.

So turns out I can use Xskin with the this mod and use their launchers for my grenade launchers!
one problem is they turn out invisible for some reason? why is that?

Hey, on line 96 of the XComEncounterLists.ini there is a stray tab after the end of line marker (\\) which causes the config parser to miss some of the file and give a redscreen on start. It's a very minor thing overall but thought I should mention it. Nice mod though :)

are there any updates to advent assualt trooper mod where radiation damage still work on units with fortress. I think radiation rounds should not work on a unit with fortress. I think radiation rounds combined with venom rounds are a nasty combo. My templar had fortress but still took radiation damage when shot from an advent assualt trooper

LWotC does NOT have Assault Troopers, but Mod Jam provides LWotC compatibility for this mod.
