Description

The Mk.7 'Hipfire VII' Anti-Ship Missile Launcher is a ship or shore mounted launcher box capable of holding and firing 7 RGM-2C Anti-Ship Missiles, or the AGM-16 Series Missiles. It is the Large Variant of the Hipfire Series of Box Launchers, designed to fit the largest of warships, and as a firepower upgrade over the Mk.6, providing 40% more missiles in the same launcher mount size, however, requires more clearance around the launcher than its smaller brethren.

Features:
- 2-Stage Firing Safety
- Manual Slew to Target
- GPS Slew to Target

How to Use:

1. Get in the seat & Turn the Lock/Unlock Key
2. Aim at your target
3. Press the Arm Button [2] and the missile doors will open
4. Press the Fire Button, Repeat for missiles 2 and 3.
5. Watch missile fly.

To slew using GPS:

1. Set a waypoint near your intended target, or at a distance similar to your target off to the side (Useful if the launch platform has clearance issues)
2. Enter Waypoint info in Keypad
3. Unlock the Turret
4. Hit the 'Switch to GPS Slewing' Button
6. Repeat from Stage 3 of How to Use.

---- NOTE ----
The first missile to launch has slightly different thrust settings on its sustainer engines which allow it to take off, without this additional thrust it gets stuck in the launcher. The change in thrust results in an approximate 150m reduction in powered range, compared to missiles 2-7, in ideal conditions (no wind, perfect angle). It has been tested for ranges of up to 4.5km at which range it will hit.

@Ambitious Dreamsickle, that is the problem with radar in SW, it isnt very good, and wind is ridiculously powerful. I mean sure you can use it with credit, I would advise using a better missile though, the AGM-16 from the Newquay Weapons Pack is actually kept upto date unlike this thing.

The system works very well on single targets. I find that the missiles tend to become disorentated with the more radar targets that are added, the results vary when you have five helicopters in the general area of the firing location. all in all very good weapons all around, wind can also impact the missile attack vector. I'd love to use these on a creation of mine with your blessing, will credit you if I post the vehicle in workshop.

can you make a new version of your missile to launch from a Aircraft pylon

UPDATE: Updated for the Weapons DLC, however it should be noted that the first missile tends to not hit it's target at maximum range. New Maximum Range: 5km, Maximum Effective Range: 4.5km

@TAHUEL, of the missile, yes, just grab the standalone version of the Meerkat Missile and change its orientation to point upwards, it will work to a degree, Stormworks isnt a fan of changing a missiles orientation in the editor but the meerkat can handle it, note that by making it VLS you will reduce it's overall range.

can i you make a vertical launch version?

The Atom, you will require a wider hull to support it. Also make sure you are getting rid of the weight blocks if mounting on a ship, as they exist to allow it to work on land as they need them to prevent the torque from turning the base instead of the turret.

I love this but i cant help but notice every hull is put this on it causes it to sink or capsize sadly

Aristide, it's a sub-assembly, you copy and paste it onto one of your own ships using the game's selection tool.
