Days Gone has a huge open world, but the game's plot is linear. Deacon can make a lot of minor decisions, but the order of the missions is always the same - however, you have a bit of freedom in the side missions (both in their order and in the way they are executed). Each mission rewards you with experience points; most of them will also reward you with credits and trust points in a particular camp. Stories are intertwined - completing a single mission can unlock new storylines with unrelated missions. Sometimes your log may be empty-wait for someone to contact you by radio (this happens outside of the camp).

This mission will begin immediately after the end of the opening video, during which Deacon puts Sarah on the helicopter. This mission starts in Cascades.     Track Leon

    Continue to follow Bukhar until you reach a small camp. Leon will attack you, but he will run out of ammo right away. Always stick to Bukhar and continue to follow the main trail. Go through the tunnel
On the way to Crazy Willis, you will encounter a tunnel. Bukhar stops his bike, and Deacon leads the exploration. Follow the on-screen instructions to turn on the flashlight and continue.


Unfortunately, the tunnel is a nest of phreakers. To clear the nests, you need incendiary bottles, and Bukhar just has Molotov. Bukhar, however, would prefer to avoid the nest and continue. Deacon wants to destroy it instead.



After Deacon uses Molotov to burn down the nest, get ready to join the battle and destroy the freakers.


After burning the nest, go ahead and use the Boozer shotgun when needed.


Follow the hints on the screen and open the car trunks to stock up on loot. Follow the directions to the task and push the car away to create a path for the Boozer.

Find the fuel pump Once inside, you can find the fuel pump in the garage. You can remove it from the motorcycle standing on the rack.



Find the Boozer When you were looking for the fuel pump, the Boozer was caught by some of the deadbeats. Go to your next mission marker to find Buhari and his hand that was tortured by the welder.


Save the Boozer from the death Eaters Equip your weapons and kill the death eaters who are tormenting the Boozer.

Go to the checkpoint NERO
Deacon decides to go to the nearest checkpoint of NERO to find bandages and medicines for Bukhar.



Restore power in the mobile medical department of NERO
There is no electricity at the checkpoint. To restore it, we need to find a generator and a canister of fuel to start it up. Since you're looking for both options, it would be preferable to go up to the medical section and turn off the speakers or knock them off the floodlight poles so that they don't attract unwanted phreakers once the generator is running again. Find fuel for the generator

Start location

Get to the place

Explore the nearest clue and follow the white dots on your mini-map to get closer to the resting place. Climb the hill in front of you, and you will find the repose. Sneak up on him from behind for a sneak kill.

Get to Lisa

Follow the helicopter and soon you will be chased by infected wolves.


After a short cut scene, Deacon will return to his motorcycle, ready to go after the helicopter again. As you approach the location of the helicopter, another cut-scene is activated, during which the Nero squad will be attacked by the horde. The team manages to leave the area before it's too late.



Get Radio NERO
The scientists left something for Deacon to investigate. Wait until most of the phreakers are gone, then use stealth to get to the nearest marker.   • Thugs are big, muscular freaks who will try to tear you to pieces. Upon arrival, you will need to find a test kit for the napalm recipe. Here you can find three places to search, but the one you need is to the left of the mine entrance.

While inside the mine, tap and find the hint.

Jump down to enter the mine shaft.

6/6 Collect cinnabar
Now you need to collect 5 more cinnabar samples, but you will need to get rid of the phreakers in this area before you can collect them. If you have a skill that allows you to highlight nearby enemies, this is a good place to use it, given the darkness of the place. Go through the mine and kill everything you see in sight.


When you're done, use the fuel canister in front of the generator to fill it up and turn it on. This will drain the water in the mine and allow you to continue. However, the generated noise will cause other phreakers to be attracted. Take your weapons and deal with them. Then collect your samples, which you will get from some red ore all over the mine.


Escape from the mine
Time to escape from the mine. Follow the mission marker until you reach the elevator shaft. Pull the lever to return to the top. Here you will see two mission markers, both leading to the exit. Go back to Weaver
Head back to Wizard Island to return the samples to Weaver, who will give Deacon a new application form, this time for polystyrene, the main component of napalm.

When you arrive at the research area, follow the yellow arrow on your mini-map. This will take you to the tourist information office, where Deacon needs to collect yeast for Sarah's lab tests. The yeast bag is located in the kitchen, which is located in the building on the left, in the pantry to the right of the main door. It was time to leave the building and take the find to Sarah.


Take the yeast to Sarah
Exit the building, possibly avoiding the enemies in the area, and return to the camp to complete the task and mission. Sarah asks Deacon to collect more items for her research.

Follow the mission marker until you come across a motorcycle Crystal that seems to have broken down. Then go to the next research area to see the footprints.

Find and save Ethan Ross
Keep running forward until you reach the borders of the marauder camp. The camp is well protected and almost impassable, except for a small hole in the fence.


To get to the hole in the fence, run east around the camp. You will bypass the stream. Just keep going around the camp and you'll find a hole in the fence.

Kill enemies in the warehouse
After entering the facility through the emergency exit, you will need to eliminate some enemies. Equip your best weapons and clean up everything that is in your way.


Find the Atrium
Sarah will open the next door on your way and will be ready to open fire, because behind this door you are waiting for enemies. By eliminating the enemies behind the doors, get rid of the two snipers on the roof.



After entering the room, take the time to stock up on resources. Many items can be collected here, including collectibles. Then go to the door that Sarah is trying to open. However, Deacon fears that the enemies right outside the door are ready to shoot him and Sarah. Time for another plan!

Find the head of security

After exiting the Atrium, Deacon is challenged to turn off the center's electrical fences to allow Boozer and Ricky to enter and get all the food and water they need for Lost Lake. Run to the mission marker to access the generator that activates the electric fences. Of course, it won't be that easy.


0/2 burn the phreaker nests
The area near the generator is filled with phreakers, and Deacon needs to eliminate them first. If you do not have incendiary ammunition, then there are two cans of kerosene nearby. Go to the nests and burn them one by one.



Disable Cloverdale Electric fences
Now that the phreaker sockets are finished, run to the door and push the switch inside.



Deacon then reports to Lost Lake Camp about the food and water storage available at the research facility.

Go to the ski base
Doc Jimenez is dead, and Taylor disappeared with the camp's drugs. Head to the ski lodge on the mountain side of Highway 97. Once you reach the mission marker, you'll notice that Taylor's motorcycle is on the ground. Deacon wonders why Taylor went there.


Track down Taylor
Let's start by investigating his motorcycle. Then run down the slope until you see the ski base in the distance.


Kill the looters at the ski base
Looters are patrolling the area, so grab your best weapons or use stealth in the area. Be careful with the sniper. It may be worth fixing it with a silencer first, and then continuing.


Find Taylor
After the fight, go to the building and find Taylor by the fireplace. Taylor doesn't want to be hanged, so Deacon decides to overdose on him, and then tells Captain Cowrie that Taylor died of an overdose. Kouri and Deacon then decide to burn the bodies inside and around the house, so as not to leave them to the phreakers.

Head south to your new mission marker, where you'll find a new area to explore. Interact with the motorcycle on the ground and continue to the nearest camp, which is clearly visible thanks to the large electric tower.



Find and save Melinda Foster
Once you are inside the camp, you need to kill some marauders. Then go to the door to enter the room where Melinda is. Here the marauder is going to kill her. Enter the concentration mode and shoot him in the head. Melinda will be heading back to camp. Mission accomplished.

Click on the mission marker. When you do, Captain Kouri will call you and tell you that they are ready to test Weaver's new napalm weapon.

Euthanize a test subject for Sarah
Sarah needs a jackal, namely a girl in a red T-shirt. Choose a tranquilizer from your weapon wheel. You have 5 shots.


Jackals are quite capricious and like to constantly move and jump, so it can be difficult to aim. Remember that if you do not attack, the jackals are harmless.

In my passage, the girl-phreaker was on the left side of the house, outside. Once you find it, a red and yellow icon will appear above her head.


When the girl falls, you need to first get rid of any surrounding jackals in the area before you can take her with you to the camp. Now use any weapon you want. Jackals are the lightest creatures in the game, so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge. When you're done, go back to the test girl and press F to lift her up and put her on the bike. You will automatically return to the camp.



At camp, Deacon brings a test subject to Sarah's lab. Sarah injects her with the medicine she was working on, but instead of healing the girl, it kills her.


Sarah is clearly upset, and Deacon realizes that all this time she was not working on a biological weapon, but on this drug. The reverse engineering of the formula didn't work, and nothing seems to be able to restore these creatures to their former form. For some reason, Deacon encourages them to continue working on their research and suggests that they return to Cloverdale to find better equipment for her next attempt at the formula. However, this is not exactly what they will do.


Just after Deacon leaves Sarah's tent, the Colonel, Captain Cowrie, and Weaver approach him, ready to try out the napalm weapons. And how can there be anything better than a horde for the test?!

    Initial location
    This mission starts right after the end is just a little bit left. The mission begins in Crater Lake. In this mission, you will need to destroy a horde consisting of more than 300 freakers.

    To achieve this goal, you must have a lot of explosive projectiles, as well as a Chicago Chopper rifle (read more here). At the top of the screen is a red bar showing the overall health of the horde.


    Destroy the Chelmouth Horde
    Start by collecting napalm in the boxes behind you. Then to the motorcycle and on the task marker.


    Try to hide in the bushes, as close as possible to the horde. Using stealth here is of paramount importance if you don't want to be caught, as running will create too much noise.

    The goal here is to gather as many phreakers as possible into one specific small area (an attractor bomb will do, if you have one). Then throw the explosives into the thick of the phreakers.



    Repeat until the horde's health indicator drops by at least half.


    Now the strategy is a little different. Shoot multiple phreakers and run as fast as you can. Repeat. This will allow your stamina to recharge while shooting. Avoid rolling as it uses too much stamina. There are also many explosive gas cylinders around the gas station, and using them will create additional explosions, minimizing the number of phreakers.




    Go back to Captain Kouri

There's one other cut-scene featuring NERO and O'Bryan, the Mission is called "Theres nothing you can do" I'm pretty sure. It is surely the best final cut-scene as it sets up a sequel pretty well. Bryan called me after doing the "For the Benefit of others" cut-scene, and after another short cut-scene mission I do not remember the name of, where the girl you rescue from the Rippers rides into Iron Mike's to trade ears and Deacon mentions he will introduce her to Sarah. Unless I missed them somewhere in your guide, but I think it must be done at the end of the game. Great Guide, Love this Game. :zommetal:
