Description
DISCLAIMER: Before subbing to this please DO take vision of the known issues section.

This mod adds six new berserk themed units for the Norscan Factions and Chaos, respectively:
-Ulfhednar Berserkers
-Ulfhednar Berserkers (Great Weapons)
-Wolf Guard
-Ulfhednar Berserkers Champions
-Ulfhednar Berserkers Champions (Great Weapons)
-Wolf Guard Champions

They are all available through the following building chains:
-Main Norscan Military chain
-Norscan Outpost Military chain
-Skeggi Hall chain
-Main Horde Chaos Marauders chain

Except for the Wolf Guard units which are a bit tankier, they are pretty much anti-infantry/damage dealers units and they should be used as such.
They are not glass cannons by any means but they are not super tanky either.

Ok, presentation over: let's dive into the technical stuff!

*BALANCE*

As always: I tried my best to not make them too broken.
Keep in mind that I have tested them in custom battles only though.
That means that I'm not taking into account Lord's Campaign Bonuses.
If you have suggestions for possible buffs or nerfs let me know down in the comment section!
I'm open to changes!
NOTICE: The units' stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP and unit models if you are playing on Ultra.

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
I'm playing the game with 100+ different mods and everything is working fine!
The mod is NOT save compatible.
If you want these Ulfhednar Berserkers in your campaign you'll have to start a new one.

*KNOWN ISSUES*

-Minor textureless spot between the berserker's head and torso, nothing really tragic in my opinion.

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you...when the mod status change from updated to outdated....if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff....know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif


...But jokes aside: please don't do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

As a matter of fact I'm officially retired from SFO/Overhaul related mods.
As always: If you already have previous experience in SFO submodding feel free to make an SFO version out of any of my mods that are currently missing one, I will link your submods if you provide me with a link.

No.
There Is an old and obscure precedent in the 1993's Man O' War Sea of Blood Rulebook about Norscan "Wolf Warriors" known as "Ulfwerener" who were able to transform into half-man/half-wolf but It was never explained if they were in fact just Skin Wolves communities or full half-breeds.
Plus, this Is not the case for my units: these guys are Humans.
Regarding the name that I did use: Ulfhednar are really similar to Berserkir and they are both part of the Norse History and Mythology.

Right yeah whenever archers for the norse like stolen longbows and bows from the empire and bertions then they field archers and maybe even slave archers as well as hunters.

@Dr.JOJO While I do agree that It would be nice to see some Marauders Archers I don't know if It's fully doable.
Back then I tried to reshape a Marauder skeleton into an Empire Archer skeleton but while most of the model was ok, the hands were completely deformed.
It might be totally on me though, since I'm generally not very good with anything related to skeletons and animations.

Communication: Tomorrow (No ETA on the hour since I'm going to be busy with other stuff) this mod will get an update regarding unit models.
Therefore the screenshots, Unit cards and the Known Issues section will change as a result.
I really do think that Thom did a great work with the new models and I hope that all of you are going to like them as much as I do!
That said, I'm still going to grant you access to the old/legacy version of this mod through an unlisted link attached in the mod's description, just in case.

I'm really just fine with the head resize/reposition so that they can have an actual neck, but if you want to add accessories or anything else to make them more unique by any means go ahead!

@Thom As I explained in the Known Issues discussion I already tried H3ro's asset editor and It didn't work for me.
Since other modders are doing just fine with that tool the problem must be on me, so I'm either doing something wrong or there Is something wrong with my rig.
When I try to open model files the program just refuse to load anything, plus whenever I open the program I can see in his cmd that there are some errors regarding missing data pack files, which Is weird since I already did multiple integrity checks and the game runs just fine...:lunar2020thinkingtiger:
Anyhow, If I ever manage to get the tool working (and learn how to use It) I would surely try to visually improve this mod.
Hopefully one of these days someone with previous experience with that tool will make video tutorials or write down a guide and share the knowledge for big dummies like myself :cozybrawlhalla1:
