How To Host Own HLL Server
Autorstwa: HupiukkoGaming
Here is explained how to host, in this case how to rent, your own server in Hell Let Loose and what tools you need to moderate it. The guide presents you all the available Game Server Provider (GSP) options and compares the prices, locations and features by different GSPs to ease your decision making and to provide insight into the topic.

The guide is also trying to collect reviews from other clans & communities within HLL. The author is a former community manager of [fll.fi] Finns Let Loose - A Finnish HLL Community. The Finnish community has experimented with all three GSPs (G-Portal, GTX Gaming & Nitrado).

Rent A Server
Hell Let Loose does not provide dedicated server files. You can only host your own HLL server by renting a server from one of the three Game Server Providers (GSP). Please notice that the developers of HLL has limited their GSP partners and there is not much to choose from. Self-hosting is not possible and there is no recent news or discussion regarding that subject from the developers of HLL.

If you spot outdated information, please comment below and I'll correct it asap.

I am not affiliated with the developers or publisher of Hell Let Loose. With this guide I want to make server hosting more accessible to people because as it is right now, the information is "hidden" or behind extensive searching or simply not well-known.

Personally I have experience with G-Portal, Nitrado and GTX. While this guide is done independently, trying to provide, share and compare information from the public (and not so public) sources, as transparently as possible, please notice that I am part of GTX Gaming's public affiliate program. If you end up renting a server from GTX by using the link below, I am credited according to their affiliate program[www.gtxgaming.co.uk], which means 10% commission from every purchase made.

Admin Tools
After finding a suitable GSP for you, the next thing you need is admin tools. Here you have three options. It is recommended to use anything else besides the vanilla RCON. It should be your last resort when all the other technologies are down.

Vanilla RCON
A basic tool, the official tool developed by HLL Devs. You can download the .exe file from a link provided by your GSP. This tool is the only tool that is not web-based or mobile compatible.

Community RCON
A community developed tool for advanced use and features. It makes makes server running a much smoother experience, when comparing to Vanilla RCON.
https://hllrcon.app/

Battlemetrics RCON
A third party tool. The only tool that comes with a price tag. Especially suitable for multigaming communities because you can manage all the supported games from the same window. Or if you have plans to grow in the future, then you can use your HLL ban list in your future games for example. It offers a-7-day free trial period.

Discord For Server Owners
There is peer support Discord for server owners & admins called "HLL Hosting & Divisions Bunker". It is created & moderated by the developers of HLL. It also serves as a place for occasional dev communications towards the server owners: https://discord.gg/Pm5WfhB

Lol, what a joke! E50 for 4 core/8 thread usa servers from g-portal - 2011 era tech (E3-1240
Lithography 32 nm)... these servers could be run on a i7 mac mini and do just as good of a job!

Great, so a lot of people comming from a lot of countries cannot play that game at all because host partners only cover certain areas, and we have no option to host anything close to us, Even thought we have very powerfull server (talking about top end EPYC CPU and TB+ RAM+ dedicated fiber)

Yeah so many of us world-wide are saying Until SteamCMD files are released. NOPE.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! STOP MAKING YOUR CUSTOMERS PAY MORE! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Time to find a new game.

Yeah no thanks. Until the developers figure out that nobody wants to pay to rent their own servers when so many of us have hosted our own on amazing hardware and internet for almost 20 years, and RELEASES THE FILES on SteamCMD, no thanks.

dont worry, the game also checks for server connection as you start the game, so when they kill the servers eventually, you will probably not even be able to play on the firing range! :buddy_boulder:

What are the recommended specs to host a HLL server with GTX? I've seen all the options to upgrade some specs, but is there any real benefit in doing so?
HupiukkoGaming  [autor] 3 lutego 2024 o 3:26
Nope. It's a good price so not every kid can afford their own server :D
