Progress Rail (ex-CSX) SD70ACe No. 4831

Progress Rail (reporting mark - PRLX) No. 4831 is an EMD SD70ACe diesel locomotive. She was built in 2004, originally for CSX Transportation (who ordered 150 SD70ACes). Upon entering service she was painted in the YN3 livery.

Around 2018, the locomotive - along with CSX 4832 to 4850 - was sold to Progress Rail Leasing, and retained her original number. The CSX markings on the engine were covered up, and the PRLX reporting mark was added to each side of the long-hood.

In 2020 the Roberval and Saguenay Railway, a shortline in Quebec, Canada, bought three of Progress Rail’s ex-CSX engines in 2020. One of those engines was 4831, and she was sold alongside two other ex-CSX SD70ACes (numbers 4843 and 4849). The engines have been renumbered as RS 80 (4831), RS 81 (4843) and RS 82 (4849).
