2/10/2022 Update:
So, turns out this guide is a bit unnecessary as it turns out, the game does list the info on where to find the materials! My mistake, but people seem to like this guide and mixing the location with a bunch of random characters in the menu probably made it harder to notice if you're just browsing through menus (hence how I glossed over it.) Anyways, here is an image that shows you where in the menu it lists the location. I'll still be keeping the list up as you wont know where to find certain materials until you find one, so knowing where they all are beforehand can definitely help, or for people playing on a new save.

These are where you'll need to kill enemies or open containers to find these materials. I couldn't find anything on the community hub, so I found some info online and decided to make a guide.

Thanks to BioHazard4Live on his farming video, these are probably the best routes I've seen for grinding.

Something of importance to note about finding materials: If you don't have any of a specific item in your inventory, they won't show up there period. In my case, corrupted samples aren't in my inventory so the game doesn't tell me to find them. thanks for the help, makes it a lot easier for me :>

@zORg_alex Ah, I somehow never noticed that during gameplay, my bad. I'm reinstalling now and I'll update the guide once I'm able to get a screenshot of it.

LOL
Materials do have descriptions in materials menu. There is clearly stated what level you need to farm to get them.Except Untapped Potential, it says Anomaly there.

@Revalopod You get them from The Foundation DLC area. I'm gonna fix the guide right now, I should've done it back when I made the list but I basically copied it from the twinfinite article.

i find corrupted samples the most irritating to get, all the other's i just kinda find along the way as i'm completing missions and defending myself from random hiss attacks but corrupted samples i have to go way out of my way to get, and after you kill mold-1 the mold enemy spawn rate is garbage.

remote thought comes as a close second due to the sheer number of them you need to build any of the top tier weapons/mods
