[WOTC] Missclick Protection

Description
2023 UPDATE!

This mod is now integrated into [WOTC] Gotcha Again Redux by RustyDios. I highly recommend just using that mod instead of this one.

-------

Most XCOM players had situations where they wanted to move a unit to a specific tile, but accidentlly clicked in the last moment onto a neighboring tile, leaving the soldier exposed.

This mod aims to prevent that by forcing you to hover with your mouse above the target tile for 0.75 seconds before you can click for the unit to move there. The targeting cursor will be partially transparent while the delay is ticking.

I made this mod mostly for myself, so it's not as well polished as it could have been, but if it can save some soldiers' lives, it's probably worth sharing even in this state.

No idea whether it will work with a controller.

KNOWN ISSUES

This mod does not affect melee abilities targeted by clicking a ground tile near the target.

Sometimes the mod prevents you from moving to a specific tile even when the cursor indicates the delay is over. In this case simply move the mouse away from the tile and then back.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod has two ModClassOverrides and will be incompatible with any other mods that also override these classes:
XComTacticalController XComPathingPawn

[WotC] Gotcha Again and [WotC] Peek From Concealment UI Fix also have an override to XComPathingPawn and are INCOMPATIBLE!!!.

Unfortunate, but it is what it is.

You can resolve the conflict with Gotcha Again by going to
..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1124288875\Config\XComEngine.ini
and removing or commenting out this line:
+ModClassOverrides=(BaseGameClass="XComPathingPawn", ModClass="XComPathingPawn_GA")

This will disable the conflicting part of Gotcha Again's functionality, which is responsible for showing whether soldier movement will result in pulling visible pods, or end in Smoke.

REQUIREMENTS

Safe to add or remove mid-campaign. WOTC-only, no vanilla version planned.

CONFIGURATION

This mod is configurable through this configuration file:
..\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2480522533\Config\XComUI.ini

ALTERNTIVES

Misclick Confirm WOTC

Is there a mod that prevents automatic camera cycling? usually i manually cycle to the next unit before the previous unit's movement animation is finished. This is causing massive miss clicks as the camera automatically flies away to another random unit when the afromentioned animation is done.

@Moon Cheese
No, they both override the same class, as mentioned in both mods' descriptions.

Is it possible to use both your mod and Misclick Confirm WOTC?

Got it. Thank you so much for the prompt response, and for all your hard work!

@Fujiberry

My mod adds a delay between you putting a mouse over a tile and you being able to issue a move command.

The Missclick Confirm displays a pop up message whenever you issue a move command to a tile that is not in cover.

Hey @Iridar, great work as always. That said, I'm a bit confused about the difference(s) between this mod and Misclick Confirm. They conflict with each other so I'm just trying to decide which has the functionality I require.

Can you elaborate on the difference(s)?
