Rim-Effect: Interface

Description

See change notes for any future updates.

05/07/2021: Release

Rim Effect is a large overhaul mod series, adding the story, races, objects, and conflicts of Mass Effect universe into RimWorld. The Mass Effect elements are not meant to stand out, and as such are blended into the RimWorld style by utilising the same naming conventions and writing styles.

Much like Vanilla Factions Expanded, the Rim Effect mod series comes divided into sub-modules, firstly to allow the players to pick exactly what elements they want in their games, secondly to ease the production and design process.

Rim Effect: Interface is a custom theme utilizing Rimthemes, inspired by the first Mass Effect game. Utilizing sounds from the game and custom made graphics and videos, it is the perfect complement to the full Rim Effect experience!

We are currently not aware of any issues. If you believe you encountered a bug, please submit a hugslib log alongside an explanation of how the bug occurred. If you don’t do that, I promise you I won’t get back to you. We need the logs to troubleshoot. We don’t need screenshots or your mod lists, or names of your pawns. We need logs.

To get hugslib logs, make sure you have a Hugslib mod running, then go to the dev console and press the green 'Share logs' button. Post the link in the comments.

You might also need to download a Hugslib Token Fix mod if you encounter issues with log uploading.

If you have feedback in regards to a specific mechanic, feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below!

Oddly enough, I've noticed a conflict between Real Ruins and this theme specifically, where the game's controls become completely unresponsive after reaching the landing tile selection screen. RimThemes itself works fine, as do other themes. It's this theme specifically that's causing the issue.

Hope this gets updated to 1.4 at some point, as it's a gorgeous theme.

the pause button is so obnoxiously loud compared to every other sound effect, is there also a way to turn it off?

I love the theme but I really wish it had a louder noise for selecting objects or pawns.

Looks pretty good for the most part, the one thing that's bugging me is the colors for health conditions in the health tab is off. Everything that is supposed to be grey or green is showing up as white, making it really hard to spot at a glance what is going on with pawn health. So like a destroyed limb is listed as white text, a healthy bionic limb is listed as white text, in addition to the normal things that would usually be white text. I can't find any way to disable text color changes in RimThemes, though it's my first time using the mod.

Thanks @Miko for pointing it out. I would have never guessed you have to click on the logo to choose the theme
