Rim-Effect: Interface

Description

See change notes for any future updates.

05/07/2021: Release

Rim Effect is a large overhaul mod series, adding the story, races, objects, and conflicts of Mass Effect universe into RimWorld. The Mass Effect elements are not meant to stand out, and as such are blended into the RimWorld style by utilising the same naming conventions and writing styles.

Much like Vanilla Factions Expanded, the Rim Effect mod series comes divided into sub-modules, firstly to allow the players to pick exactly what elements they want in their games, secondly to ease the production and design process.

Rim Effect: Interface is a custom theme utilizing Rimthemes, inspired by the first Mass Effect game. Utilizing sounds from the game and custom made graphics and videos, it is the perfect complement to the full Rim Effect experience!

We are currently not aware of any issues. If you believe you encountered a bug, please submit a hugslib log alongside an explanation of how the bug occurred. If you don’t do that, I promise you I won’t get back to you. We need the logs to troubleshoot. We don’t need screenshots or your mod lists, or names of your pawns. We need logs.

To get hugslib logs, make sure you have a Hugslib mod running, then go to the dev console and press the green 'Share logs' button. Post the link in the comments.

You might also need to download a Hugslib Token Fix mod if you encounter issues with log uploading.

If you have feedback in regards to a specific mechanic, feel free to leave a comment in the comment section below!

A: No, it’s simply additional content you might enjoy for full Mass Effect experience.

Q: Can I add it to an ongoing save? Can I remove it?
A: Yes, you can add it whenever you like. Make sure to back up your save though, as removing mods can cause issues.

im so strong....... Jul 28 @ 7:57pm
I love the theme but I really wish it had a louder noise for selecting objects or pawns.

Looks pretty good for the most part, the one thing that's bugging me is the colors for health conditions in the health tab is off. Everything that is supposed to be grey or green is showing up as white, making it really hard to spot at a glance what is going on with pawn health. So like a destroyed limb is listed as white text, a healthy bionic limb is listed as white text, in addition to the normal things that would usually be white text. I can't find any way to disable text color changes in RimThemes, though it's my first time using the mod.

Thanks @Miko for pointing it out. I would have never guessed you have to click on the logo to choose the theme

@Lolatron45 Open Rim-Themes in the mod settings and click the Icon at the top to select the theme.

Is the mod compatible with RimHUD?

@InsideBSI
You'll want to ask on the RimThemes page about that - this mod is graphics/skin only, I'm not familiar with the actual coding of the RimThemes mod, and that would be what affects that.

So I'm having a slight issue as shown here on this gif: some themes including this one makes the text persitant (like construction botched or level ups) and it will never fade away. Even already gone text will show back up when switching back. How can I fix this without changing theme ? https://i.imgur.com/itMoFek.gif

I've updated the cursor to be more accurate per both of your feedback. Tested it on the menu buttons to home it in.

I also included an alternate cursor in the files, if you prefer a more standard triangular mouse cursor over the more accurate to the games rounded one. In order to switch it out, just rename the files in the mod folder.
