It works to do a junction off of the fuel line that goes into a gas relief valve & then some form of fluid port exterior

@Anathema's issue is most likely related to the gas pressure update that came when the Space DLC was released. This heli was last updated before that game mechanic was introduced, and as such has no gas relief valve in the fuel system. It will gradually starve itself of fuel right around 40% fuel level. This can be alleviated by opening the reserve fuel tank to transfer some air in. If done right, this will allow this heli to fly until it is completely depleted of fuel.
Another simple fix is to add in a gas relief valve on a locally saved version of this heli
If something about the physics model has changed that breaks this it's unlikely i'll be able to fix it without building a totally new design, which would just be a new vehicle.
