EMD SD60M Companhia Vale do Rio Doce: Estrada de Ferro Carajás

Description
The EMD SD60M is a 6-axle road switcher diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division having a 16-cylinder EMD 16-710G3A turbocharged 2-stroke diesel engine producing 3,800 horsepower (2,833 kW) and featuring the , at the time, brand new confort/safety wide cab. Only 2 of these locomotives were built south of the equator, in 1991. This locomotive and the SD50 were the black sheep of EMD, plagued by reliability problems, both models would never be as popular as their predecessor, the SD40-2.

The model represented is one of the two SD60Ms built below the equator, in Brazil by Equipamentos Villares S/A (Villares Equipments S.A), they went to the then new Estrada de Ferro Carajás (Carajás Railroad), plagued with mechanical issues both units (601 and 602) were relegated to shunting or ballast jobs, both units were scrapped in the mid 2010s, these were the last locomotives produced by Villares before she was bought by General Electric of Brazil to form GEVISA.

This locomotive (602) became famous after having is photography used in a GM EMD poster in 1995, congratulating EFC for its 10th year of operations and talking about the importance of EMD locomotives on that railroad, ironically the next year (1996), Villares was sold to GE of Brazil. EMD presence in Brazil would only be restored in 2013, with the opening of the EMD plant in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais.

THIS MODEL IS PAINTED IN BROWN AND WHITE SWEET RIVER VALLEY: CARAJÁS RAILROAD LIVERY.

ENGINE START-UP PROCESS:
Enter the locomotive cab and turn the two breakers on the engineers side on (Master and Subsystems), exit through the back of the cab, engineers side, and go along the long hood, you should walk along the long hood until you find a small window, in front of this window there is a door, press both buttons to open the door and reveal the engine panel, in said painel again turn on the "Engine Primer" and "Engine Starter" keys in that order, the EMD 16-710G3A prime mover will start up, when you hear the high revs TURN ONLY THE "ENGINE STARTER" OFF.
Close all doors and go to the engineers seat, breaks will be at 100% by default, release them, the pressure should rise to 70psi on the gauge. Make sure your reverser lever is set to 1(forwards). Add throttle.

Features:

- Anti-wheel slip system
- Large fuel tank (26000L)
- Working lights
- Heaters
- Electric connector couplers
- A bathroom on the auxiliary engineer (Fireman) side on the short hood with arctic equipment.
- Highly detailed, with working engine bay doors along the long hood, with a 16-710G3A engine replica inside.

Hey, I'm working on a video as part of the Stormy Awards, It's a pre-show thing about last years winners. Looking for 4 facts about this creation or anything related to it. Could be anything from talking about its development, or a funny quote you want included. Thanks!
