40K Sol

Description
Created for 3.0.X.
(Credit to kaaskop on deviantart for the trooper art which was the only damn thing I could find that was within my skill set to cut out and use for the icon.)

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Before we get into things let me say firstly: I. Am. NOT. A. 40K. Fan.

Do not attack me for inaccuracies or concerns.

Someone asked me to make this mod long ago, a simple 40K equivalent Sol system that could be played without the attendant overhaul elements of other 40K mods. When I finally got back in the mood for modding I looked around and, to my surprise, discovered still no one appeared to have gotten around to it.

Thus here it is. I am 100% open to adding stuff to it, as long as requests for things being added are made respectfully.

-----------------------------

WHAT DOES THIS MOD CONTAIN?

This mod contains two systems: "40K Sol" and "40K Sol ++Extra"

The Sol system used attempts to ensure that every celestial body that can be found in Sol exists, and is terraformable if it was inhabited in the 40K timeline. The reference used was the Wiki:
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Sol_System

The "++Extra" version also spawns different systems in the neighbourhood from the chain of OP Capital systems from my other mod which can be found here:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=931566593

-----------------------------

WARNING:

Several vanilla Origins use their own system initialisers. After messing around I decided it was simply best if I didn't deal with them. As such, the following origins are incompatible with these systems:

- Life Seeded (Wildly unnecessary too.)
- Post-Apocalyptic
- Remnants
- Common Ground
- Hegemon
- Shattered Ring
- Void Dwellers
- Resource Consolidation (Probably)

Further I take no responsibility for edge-case interactions between some systems and Galactic Doorstep, Lost Colony, Doomsday, On the Shoulders of Giants, or literally any machine start.

The following are 100% A-OK:
- Calamitous Birth
- Mechanist
- Syncretic Evolution
- Tree of Life
- Scion
- Necrophage
- Prosperous Unification (Obviously)

-----------------------------

Multiplayer:

Yes, it should work, no it is not balanced.

-----------------------------

Thankyou for your attention, and please feel free to ask for any additions you would like made to the mod in the comments. Just, please be specific, the more specific you can be the better your odds of me granting your request.

@Einheri a little late but within gigastructures, there are ways to make said worlds terraformable with mega structures

And yet the frozen worlds (like Titan) are terraformable... I don't know if they can do that in the original game.
I also tried adding the modifier to Mercury (molten world) and like Venus it doesn't work, so I guess the planet classification is the issue. (Maybe I'm wrong though)

Ah, interesting. Ok, I know how to fix that. I'll see if I have some time and motivation maybe next week.

Although Venus is a terraforming candidate, it can still not be terraformed due to its toxic world classification.

Unsubscribing worked! thanks!

-> This mod contains two systems: "40K Sol" and "40K Sol ++Extra"

If you can’t see them I suspect you’ve either selected some civic or such that has disabled them, or the mod hasn’t downloaded properly. You can try unsubscribing and resubscriging to refresh it?

Sorry to be a pin but I can't find either of the systems in the mod when making a custom faction.
What are the systems called?
MasterOfGrey  [author] Jun 28, 2021 @ 1:31am
That's interesting and... hmm I think I might know where that's come from. I'll look into it sometime soonish.

I still love this but many of the terraforming candidates in the Sol have the 'no planet to terraform into' flag.

I think it's pretty much just sol system that's got stuff close to the sun, but I can pencil in spacing them out a little further next update.
