Mod Description
There's been quite a bit a talk about "Bringing Back Battleships" lately, so to fit the theme of arma here is my take on what a 2030's refit of the old Iowa class battleship may look like. this comp adds more long/ med/ short AA weapon systems, counter measures, .50 HMG's for small boat defence, remote laser designator, and cruise missiles while retaining all the old weapon systems from the 80's refit (vanilla iowa mod). This version of the Iowa is exceptionally capable of defending itself and surrounding fleet while providing long range support.

Questions & Answers
Q: How do i find it in game?
A: It's not a mod so it wont show in your launcher. in the editor you need to press the groups key or F2 then click on the composition icon. click the first link in the description and watch the first video to see what those icons look like. ( the video is of him saving the comp but the location is the same )

Q: Can I walk/climb around on it ?
A: YES, even AI. but you will be thrown about/off it waves are to strong and must not be moving. to walk on it while moving you'll need a mod like Walkable Moving Objects or Enhanced Movement as this is a vanilla arma issue

Q: Why don't the Tomahawks/ Harpoons work?
A: As far as i can tell they were just never finished or added. this is a very old mod, and back then they really had nothing to shoot at with them. This version carriers 3 VLS's to help compensate.

Q: Why is it spawning all broken up?
A: You need to click off Vertical Mode & Surface Snapping before spawning any comp, click the first link in the description, there's a section in the first part in the yellow box that'll show you what the button looks like.

Q What is the point of this?
A: To add a more modern battleship to act as a flagship, able to defend itself properly and surrounding forces while providing long range support, for 2030 for other modern/ near future operations.

Known Bugs & Issues
- The Iowa mod is quite old and had a long list of issues before the mountain of updates leading to today. i wont bother listing them all here, see it's mod page if you want more info.

- Rotating in the edtitor causes a lot of offseting issues

- Turrets sometimes try to shoot threw the ship, this is because bullet collisions (Fire Geometry) may not work properly on some parts of the hull

It's saying that I'm missing content for the composition... I have no other mods installed other than CBA_A3 and Zeus. Is there something else I need to do?

i didnt make the iowa mod, nor do i got the capabilities to do that. all i did was give this ship more modern/ near future weapon systems, hence the name. that said the base iwoa class thats its built on its the 1980's reftit, not the ww2 version, meaning even without my upgrades it still has AA missiles, CIWS, & harpoon anti-ship missles so unless the yamato was also modernized it wouldn't be much of a rival.

You need to click off Terrain Level before spawning any comp, click the first link in the description, there's a section in the first part in the yellow box that'll show you what the button looks like. also when move the ship around in the editor some parts look like they havent moved but will apear in the correct pace upon starting/ reloading the scenario

when i tried to place it the ship glitched and the items were in weird locations the 16 inch guns were below the ship and when I tried to bring the guns up every other part of the ship went up so they were floating

...well technically i guess you can actually use the 5 inch for artillery fire, it still has the same elevation / range. there's just no system for it so you would have to do it old school and actually calculate the angle needed manually

5 inch are point fire only, but for long range artillery fire the ship can use its 16 inch and cruise missiles. you can even time them to land together for max sock and awe (however the 16 inch gunner has no artillery computer, to call it in you need to be the ships commander, select unit 16, 17, or 18, and you'll see the option to call in on your scroll wheel. you can select a grid to bombard visually or by looking at your map when you call it in. also you can use support modules & the turrets to call in the arty fire via radio from anywhere)

can you use the 16 inch and 5 inch guns to call artillery fire or is it still point fire?
