Metra F40PH-3 No. 118 'McHenry County'

Description
With thanks to Microcosmologist for letting me make my own Metra F40PH.

(My next F40PH re-skin will be something relating to Tennessee).

Metra 118 is a diesel locomotive that works on the busy commuter rail network around Chicago, Illinois. She was built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors in 1977, originally as a standard F40PH. 118 - named ‘McHenry Country’ - was one of 85 F40PHs ordered by Metra (who would later acquire three second-hand F40s in 2009).

118 was originally painted in the old Regional Transportation Authority livery, which consisted of a turquoise base with red and grey stripes. It wasn’t until 1985 when the brand name ‘Metra’ was introduced, and by 1987 the ‘McHenry County’ had been repainted in the then-new Metra blue livery, which is still a common sight today.

All of Metra’s F40PH engines - apart from F40PH-2s Nos. 150 to 172 - were rebuilt to F40PH-3 spec between 2008 and 2012.

118 was amongst the group of engines rebuilt as an F40PH-3, but hasn’t yet been repainted in the ‘Lightning Bolt’ livery. She is now 44 years old and is still in service hauling Metra passenger trains.

Not sure about the RTA livery, because I think it's a bit ugly. As for Rio Grande, I don't know whether I'll make that or not.
