Nautilus Submarine ( 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ) (Updated)

Description
“The year 1866 was signalised by a remarkable incident, a mysterious and puzzling phenomenon, which doubtless no one has yet forgotten. Not to mention rumours which agitated the maritime population and excited the public mind, even in the interior of continents, seafaring men were particularly excited. Merchants, common sailors, captains of vessels, skippers, both of Europe and America, naval officers of all countries, and the Governments of several States on the two continents, were deeply interested in the matter. For some time past vessels had been met by "an enormous thing," a long object, spindle-shaped, occasionally phosphorescent, and infinitely larger and more rapid in its movements than a whale. The facts relating to this apparition (entered in various log-books) agreed in most respects as to the shape of the object or creature in question, the untiring rapidity of its movements, its surprising power of locomotion, and the peculiar life with which it seemed endowed. If it was a whale, it surpassed in size all those hitherto classified in science. Taking into consideration the mean of observations made at divers times—rejecting the timid estimate of those who assigned to this object a length of two hundred feet, equally with the exaggerated opinions which set it down as a mile”

1:1 Scale Walt Disney Nautilus

I've done a best guess on interior layout, there's a few conflicting plans and the lower deck space was eaten by batteries

Usage
---
Sub sits on wheels in the creative dock because the draft is too high - Power out of the dock with full ahead, Once cleared select power as required

To Dive -> Close surface hatches -> Fill Ballast -> Set speed to slow ahead or greater -> Slowly increase "Dive planes" lever on bridge roof -> Trim with W/S to stay level during dive/ascent (Not inverted)

NB - Engine will shut down when prop is close to the surface - Stops the gearbox committing die

DIESEL ENGINES
Despite being fitted with diesel engines, They don't charge the boat - If you have a generator that can recharge 4MW of batteries and fit in that space - PM me. Instead I've made them a direct drive option for surface running - good for reaching your first dive spot or as emergency traction. You'll need engineers to use this facility

To use direct drive - (Helm) Select STOP on engine telegraph - (Engineer) Start diesel engines - (Engineer) Enable engine clutches under each engine gearbox - (Traction) At the electric motor in the rear - move the gear engage on the motor from 0 to 1 - (Engineer) Communicate with captain to modulate engine power

My god, you really did it. I have been trying to make one of these since I started SW. Someday, I plan on making a book accurate nautilus, which is MUCH, MUCH cooler than the movie version.

Col Kurtz Jul 18, 2023 @ 6:49pm
captain obvious it did not actually ram it used its electricity zapper machine built into it which caused electricity to ark through the ship and the electricity caused the gun powder to explode like a bomb which made the entire ship explode

but except the white headlights it is still a great invention

the headlights are white but in the movie they were green and that green made it seem like a monster but in this invention it kinda loses that sea monster feeling to the white headlights
